...that I'm fortunate to be fit and healthy enough to go on dog walks that give views like this.

^^ You could, quite literally, "see our house from here" when I first bought a home, in Mold.
Not that I ever did but Moel Famau was my front window view.

...and here's the dog (seconds before she legged it down the hill into a field full of sheep). Although she looks innocent enough, she could easily feature in the 'angry' thread most days. e.g. whilst visiting my parents over Christmas, she sneakily ate a whole box of chocolates without us noticing until it was too late - resulted in an £80 trip to the vets to get her to throw up. On inspection of said vomit, it's clear that she'd 'woofed' them down so quickly that the wrapped ones were virtually un-marked, still in their wrappers!

^^ Today ?? I was up there this morning.
Beautiful place. It looks down, like a junior school class about transport and communications, onto the A5 and the A539 and the Dee Bridge, a canal, a railway (now derelict) and a partially navigable river ... oh, and for those interested, Llan' golf-course, surely one of the most beautiful setting anywhere.

No, it's a 'library' photo from a few years back. Moel Famau was enough for one day!bobo the clown wrote:^^ Today ?? I was up there this morning.

my mum had 3 collies when i was a nipper. one year - one of them scoffed a whole 2lb box of shortbread from under the christmas tree while we were out... we didn't know which one until 3 or 4 hours later when one of them drank 20gallons of water and swelled to the size of a whale!

What makes this worse is that she's got history. She did the same 2 years ago and almost died as a result (on account of cocoa being toxic to dogs as I'm sure you're aware). We took no chances this year and took her to the vets straightaway.thebish wrote:Always hopeful wrote:...and here's the dog (seconds before she legged it down the hill into a field full of sheep). We know how to deal with her, it's when she visits others that we struggle since they don't know how cunning she is in hunting any foodstuffs down. In this case, she pushed open my Mum's bedroom door, where Mum had put her Christmas presents on a bedside cabinet, thinking them 'safe'.

^ my mum has trained dogs all her life - first in crufts-style obedience shows - nowadays in gun-dog tracking competitions... ALL of her dogs have been devious robbing bastards! mine (being too thick) never have!

Paddy ate several boiled sweets yesterday, plastic wrappers and all. Was all poised to take him to the vet but he seems very perky and is showing no signs of anything wrong so it seems a bit expensively pointless to take him. Would they just pass through? He pooed today (tmi) so no blockages so far...

Thanks. Yep, already framed. I've had to Photoshop out her lead on other 'portraits', but just managed to get this shot before she legged it sans lead.Bruce Rioja wrote:I hope you're having a copy of that framed, Mr Hopeful. Gawjuss on every level.
GG, I'm not sure how big Paddy is, but Jess (our Beagle) has eaten all sorts over the years complete with wrappers and hasn't come to any harm. They should pass through.
