I'm about to take my toothache to the pub, then run with it tomorrow, then do brekkers. LeverEnd was meant to be on the piss with me tomorrow night but he's wussed out, the soft c*nt. I am on the piss with you you terrible c*nt!
Did Redcar PR this morning followed by a Wetherspoons breakfast still in running kit. 21:02, faster than I've been doing recently. Me and 2 mates managed an average placing in the top five too. They were first and second, I was 11th!

Have to question this Nike+ stuff once again. Just did 5K on a treadmill - same pace throughout. It's measured four identical Km and one at two minutes slower?!

Try one of Coach Hoboh's sessions, involves Winter Hill, some rocks and a backpack.Gary the Enfield wrote:Bruce Rioja wrote:Have to question this Nike+ stuff once again. Just did 5K on a treadmill - same pace throughout. It's measured four identical Km and one at two minutes slower?!

Had a bash at street league last night. An orienteering event which was around Horwich. Good practice re map reading and it works almost as a fartlek session, dashing between controls - 6 miles covered in all - would definitely recommend it.

I've run with these guys a couple of times (Enfield Hash not Manchester, but the same rules apply)

2 minutes faster. Trying to get to grips with finishing the last 1k faster rather than slower.Gary the Enfield wrote:Bruce Rioja wrote:I'd get lostGary the Enfield wrote:Bruce Rioja wrote:Have to question this Nike+ stuff once again. Another way of doing it is an 'Out and Back'
As it suggests run 21 mins. then turn and try to run back in 20.

Re: The athletics/running thread
Good call, but I'd have to find some flat(tish) place to do it on. Where I live the out's all up and the back's all down. I think it's mainly in my head though, along the lines of '1K to go, that's me done' rather than '1K to go, go for it'.Gary the Enfield wrote: As it suggests run 21 mins. then turn and try to run back in 20.

Re: The athletics/running thread
I was supposed to do one but drunkenly slept through it. I've entered the Beverley 10k in May though so I'm going to get off my arse and get at least fit enough to get round it without incident. 8 weeks to go, will be first race in almost 2 years.Bruce Rioja wrote:Not there this morning, Chaps. Re: The athletics/running thread
Can I nominate myself for the Knobhead's Self-Inflicted Injury of the Week Award, by the way? Running on a treadmill earlier in the week I felt my right sock slip slightly and crease underneath my instep. Did I stop to sort it out? Did I feck as like. Did yesterday's run with a sore-as-feck instep.

I'm claiming that one. Chopping garlic at warp speed - I've no idea why as there was no one there to show off to - and I sliced a several millimetre slice of my finger off.
