Simple things. A walk by the sea with the dogs. A roast dinner with pink roast beef. Half a bottle of vintage port. A virtually perfect Sunday.

I have just received the news that I have secured a 12 week work experience placement(once a week for 12 weeks) in the accounts department at Blackwell's book shop in Oxford. It has given me a huge boost especially given I was 1 of 3 candidates, the placement is on Monday's and will be from 8:30 to 4pm (with an optional hour for lunch). I am nothing short of absolutely ecstatic and such news came at a time when I needed something to life me. I can now pest HMX at least once every week now. As a few have pointed out to me in recent days life throws the good and the bad at us and after a few sh*t days today was a great day :pissed: .

I would also like to thank HMX as he gave me a little bit of advice.

Well done, Dan. That's a real boon for you just now. Go and give it your best shot. :pissed:

By the way - that optical lunch hour wants looking into. ;)

Today I am really happy about the revival of my 1998 play Early One Morning - about the Bolton soldier, Pte James Smith, who was shot at dawn for desertion during the battle of Passchendaele in 1917.

This was commissioned and first performed by the Octagon in 1998, and is to be produced this year to mark the centenary of the Great War.

Performances 10 October - 1 November. I'm thrilled to be back at the Octagon! :D :D :D

Absolutely brilliant news. Can't wait to see it. How are they running it, Will?

I think this requires an evening at a local cottage hostelry. :pissed:

Well done Dan. Great news.

Well done to Will too. I'm sure he wont mind me saying, as someone who caught this play last time round, it's beltin. Still laugh at the Mrs, who when the lights came up, was in floods of tears and was sat right facing one of the cast members. Looked around and she was a long way from being the only one. If you missed it last time, give your head a shake and make sure you don't miss it this.
