Commentary reckons Monty might be able to find a few cracks and antholes in the pitch. Hope so. Like to see Freddie F york a couple too, especially Smith and Nels.Tombwfc wrote:Aye, i wish i could share the pundits optimism. But i think the likes of McKenzie and Prince will just block their way to 300.

Once again SA have scored 7% of their runs (so far this innings) off byes and leg byes. Coundn't stop a cheque and couldn't hit a hippo's arse with his bat. Went for the stumps from perpendicular when all he had to do was lob it to Bell (not excusing Bell's mis-field mind). All in all Ambrose is the worst England WK that I've ever seen.Tombwfc wrote:Infact if Ambrose keeps his place it won't be so much luck as it would be a miricle.

There's one element in cricket that sometimes tends to get forgotten amongst all the talk of seamers and swing etc. It's for a fast bowler to bowl a long one direct at the stumps. Batsmen are just so confident when the ball's coming at them direct on a straight line. Might just be worth a go.

Very relevant point and if they can just take the electric out of it, they've plenty time to do it. We, on the other hand, if we can't get the wickets tonight, have to keep the runs to almost nothing. If we can do that and give the bowlers a night's rest, tomorrow should be very interesting. Much prefer to see em off now though.Bruce Rioja wrote:I hear what you're saying, Verbal, but this lot, just like the Aussies can bat down the order. Sidebottom chips in with 22 for us and it's a bonus!Verbal wrote:Monty P! Lovely stuff. Now get Boucher and its the bowlers to go...
