Tis a very long time ago, back in the days of black and white TV, bu the original Quatermass Experiment had us hiding behind the couch. The theme music for it : Mars, The Bringer of War, from the Planets Suite, didn't help much. As horror movies it was top class stuff.

Watched a film the other night called Blood Sucking Freaks that was pretty weird. A little too campy and OTT to be truly disturbing although there is a scene where a 'Doctor' drills a hole in a woman's head and drinks her brain through a straw.
'Requiem for a Dream' is pretty disturbing. It's an endless cycle of misery and by the end of it, I needed to remove the laces from my shoes.
The scene in Trainspotting where Renton goes cold turkey and starts hallucinating is uncomfortable.

Don't call it a comeback

Seven (or is it 7even?) anyway, the Brad pitt, Morgan Freeman one.
Its mostly a paint-by-numbers, fairly week crime/thriller. But theres one scene that always freaks me out in ways that most films don't. Its the one where they break into that flat where he's been injecting some bloke with heroine constantly. He looks very dead, but he's still alive. Creepy as f*ck.

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Oh yeah. Remember that.
eeek.
Same with this scene from Haneke's 'Caché'. Very slow, subtle build up of tension and then...

Seen 6 of those. Personally think the Irreversible scene went on too long.....we get what's going on, just leave it and move on.
