George Washington, his father and grandfather were all born in Virginia, while his great-grandfather came from Essex. But I'll give you the King Arthur bit...The Axman wrote:Why not a Yank in Teeside, after all George Washington hails from Tyne & Wear, and Connecticut Yankees have been hanging around Camelot for years.Montreal Wanderer wrote: The phrase 'citation needed' might inspire some doubt. One would have thought you could not miss the clock if the story is true, though what a yank was doing in Teeside I cannot imagine. Clearly further checking required.

All I can refer to is that the matter is claimed within that pub/hotel & it's refered to in it's publicity. The Axman wrote:Why not a Yank in Teeside, after all George Washington hails from Tyne & Wear, and Connecticut Yankees have been hanging around Camelot for years.Montreal Wanderer wrote: The phrase 'citation needed' might inspire some doubt. Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: British Summer Time
Clock went back last night.
It's now 7:41AM and my partner doesn't have to be at work until 9!
It looks like 3pm matches for the rest of the season will be starting here at midnight!

I do hope that 'clipping' is a spoof for April Fools Day, clapton. If it's not I'm sure the good people of Albury will now be wishing the author lived in Wodonga.clapton is god wrote:I never quite thought of it this way. Perhaps he's on to something

It's worth it for the Scottish farmers. Worth it.

Bastard alarm clock
Clocks don't change here thankfully, but my alarm clock thinks it is in the UK and changes automatically. There was me pottering around with all the time in the world this morning having woken up early, only to find it was an hour later

Bit late for me sadly AG, I was meant to be going to a mates house at 9AM today so he was not the most impressed when I turned up at his door at 8am .Annoyed Grunt wrote:Don't forget to put your clocks forward.
