Drove over the lawn mower cable the other night - now I need to find one of those boxes that you fit to each end to reconnect them but can I find one in the shop? Can I eckers like.

Anyone know where I can find them?

Always found Maplins fine for anything electrical. There's one on Oxford Road.

TD's right.

See here -

Probably get them at B&Q also.

I would consider replacing the cable but it's more expensive- I always prefer this to fixes especially for outdoor use when you are pulling the cable around.

Making sure it's plugged in and you are stood in a bucket of water for your own safety.

In all seriousness - do be careful with the repair you make.

The demise of the Fred Shawcross " One Angry Man" column in the Bolton News. Seems format changes to the paper can no longer find him his single column (despite page after page of ads and nonesense) . Fred's my age, a brilliant musician and was the resident drummer at Trevals Club on Halliwell till it closed. Used to play with the big live dance bands and is a very intelligent bloke, more funny than angry. In his own words he's:

"as relevant to modern life as short pants on children, respect for law and order, discipline in schools, leather footballs, LP's, ballrooms with live dance bands, steam trains,Mods and Rockers, flat caps, woodbines, coal fires, Wakes Weeks and family holidays in Blackpool. I'm a Yesterday person and happyto be one!"

His column will be sadly missed by more than me, I expect. A sad reflection of the times.

Had a BBQ planned for tonight, at a friends house.
Have to stay indoors and drink all their booze instead.

More disappointed than angry I suppose but although I assumed it was bollox, I was still half hoping there would be a secret forum when I reached 1000 posts. Was it Sluffy that suggested this on another site?

And 1,000 posts is taking the piss as some sort of measure of acceptance... :-)
