Think the commentary about right, first wicket puts a ton on and it's usually more than enough. 100-4 will make for an interesting tomorrow.

Yeah. Not our finest moment and 4 off the tally, to boot.

Oh dear. Getting mullered now. Lyon and Cummings the difference here. Needed pace in our attack and a fit spinner.

Oof we needed that. Think it's going to a lot of looking out of it, just getting so we've half a chance and then they go away again until they win.

Winviz swung 25% as Smith went on his merry way. England now 59% still feels a bit finer margin than that, to me...

Honestly think this game comes down to what cloud cover is there after the rain tomorrow and how much movement it offers. An hour or so of cover and swing and seam and unless Bairstow drops em all I fancy us.

If pitch is like it was this afternoon I still think it’s Australias.

Think we have a larger delay than might have been anticipated 13:10 start, guessing that's about 24/5 overs with the early lunch leaving maybe 65? That shouldn't unduly trouble the run rate but another 20 off, might.

Would we rather have the time or them needing to force the run rate (a bit)?

Even with a few off the over count run rate is barely 3, so pretty much a non-issue, which means we have to bowl them out, with them not really needing to do owt too stupid. Not really seen the pitch deteriorate. Broad/Anderson have a joint strike rate of 7.1 overs at the minute (Bazball prior to this match), which would need 49 overs to finish the job. Still feels in Aussie favour right now, so for me I'd want 2 wickets in first hour, night-watch and a batter (or preferably two batters), think that swings it to us...

Ordinarily, if I were the Oz captain, I'd be saying take it steady until were anywhere near in sight, then have a blast and try for the win. But now it isn't ordinary due to the rain which must have softened the pitch and changed the ozone somewhat, not counting lost time. You may think this wrong, but he (the cap) may well settle for not losing rather than winning. But then again, I'm no Ricky Ponting, Pat Cummings or Steve Smith. Very much Que Sera.. :Jedi:

Yeah I meant more rain meaning they had to go at say 5. Worst case is probably time out of the game but them still being able to comfortably make the runs.

Think a lot depends on if it swings. Otherwise, Head is the one that worries me. And then Carey. The ones who can take it away from you quickly. Khawaja and Head in the first hour with it swinging around corners, please!

Yeah, at 5, you're down to 36 overs? Wicket every 5...that'd be quite some statement, but a couple early, and strange things can happen last day. But as both you, TD suggest would be good if we could get some right-angle swing out of the conditions. :-)
