Jim Beam Red Stag, on ice. Not a bourbon for the purist, but sweet Jesus I sleep well after a large one.

On the evening of Tuesday 1st October, the evening that we're away at Blackpool, I'll be taking one for the corporate team at Blackburn v Watford. As BWFC-I will doubtlessly attest, the nosebag will almost make it worth it.

I didn't think Northcote were still doing the corporate stuff at Rovers?Bruce Rioja wrote:On the evening of Tuesday 1st October, the evening that we're away at Blackpool, I'll be taking one for the corporate team at Blackburn v Watford. I haven't been there on a corporate since the Alonso game.
Is it all Venky's processed chicken now? Have to say I was really surprised at Bob's comment because I know he can be a discerning fellow. Perhaps makes sense now.
I'll have to let you know how it goes. Dear me.

To be honest Bruce I'm not sure. I heard a while back that Nigel wasn't sure if they were still doing it, but perhaps that was resolved.Bruce Rioja wrote:Is that right? Says this on their site. Are they being purposely vague here?BWFC_Insane wrote:To be honest Bruce I'm not sure. It has stunning panoramic views of the pitch, and offers a warm welcome, mouth watering three course menu inspired by Michelin-starred chef Nigel Haworth and the extra touches that make every matchday special.

inspired is a word that would worry me somewhat

And that's the word that jumped out of that sentence like a line of Can Can dancers. Are you legally entitled to use the name of an individual in that context if he no longer has ties with the business?thebish wrote:indeed - all of us can cook stuff that we think is "inspired" by a top chef!!mrkint wrote:inspired is a word that would worry me somewhat

He may well still be involved, if that is what they are saying. I mean I guess he was never actually cooking the food himself anyway!Bruce Rioja wrote:And that's the word that jumped out of that sentence like a line of Can Can dancers. I remember hearing that he did not know if the contract would be renewed but that was a year or two ago, so perhaps it was!

He may still be involved indeed. However, wouldn't you agree that the claim is at best a little ambiguous?BWFC_Insane wrote:He may well still be involved, if that is what they are saying. Re: What are you eating and drinking tonight?
Well ... LAST night I ate at an Indian in Cardiff Bay and was astonished. Called Moksh, it offered high quality and many things I'd never seen before on a menu. Well worth searching out. It may be a chain as there are others around the country with the name ;

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
"I understand you are a very good footballer" ... "I try".

Off out for a meal with the family to celebrate a birthday this evening, probably going to get a Carvery!
Re: What are you eating and drinking tonight?
have pallied up the applewood smoke-flavoured cheddar with a few of those Hovis digestive crackers and a glass of red wine - awesome! perfect antidote to a mind-numbingly tedious and pointless meeting...

Not a meeting with the boss I hope

Re: What are you eating and drinking tonight?
Went to Wetherspoons last night, well I am staying in a Wetherspoons hotel after all, and it turns out Wednesday nights are now Chicken Club! Have a roast chicken and chips w/ pint only £5.99. No discernable difference in quality between it and Nando's chicken, so good value really!
