You saying it shows women in a bad light? It's a Woody Allen film ffs, it's hardly aimed to speak for all of womankind. It's beautiful and charming and sad. Really enjoyable hour and a half. Doesn't go very deep, but deep enough to be engaging.

I thought Penny and Scarlett's tongue wrestling was pretty deep.

I tried very hard not to mention that. I did. It was amazing. Loved the film anyway.

Since you mentioned it though, Scarlett 10/10 hot. Penny 11.

Watched a show on your namesake last night General. Part of a "Nazi Collaborators" series I had downloaded recorded from a while back. Interesting chap - did 30 years in the Russian Imperial Army amongst much other stuff.

Good series if you can get your hands on it - covers collaborators from all parts of Europe including the IRA, Vichy Government etc.

The Bourne Identity.

No matter how many times I watch it, I still think its a class film.

Yeah, all good films. Its rare that by the third I'm not putting my cynical "they're just milking this" head on.

I find them that far away from the books, that they're a real disappointment. If I watched them without having read the books, I might judge them more favourably.

Bond for me every time as a film. Bourne for me every time as a book. :-)

Watched this BBC4 'Horizon' about the origins and movement of the Universe...

talk about a big topic...

Loved it, really... Made me think of the ways scientists construct stories and the ways their predecessors, witch doctors, priests and popes did...

And, really, how similar the process is... an initial story - God creates the earth - the Big Bang - lots of 'heresies' on the side of the original story... And 'Inflation theory'... 'Dark Matter'... 'Dark Flow'... on the side of the scientific one...

Human curiosity and desire to tell and disentangle a story, find an origin, lie at the heart of both endeavours.

The main difference being one seeks evidence and the other relies on superstition...

Was very good... As 'big picture' investigations often are...

Been (trying to) powering through Big Brother to try and catch up.

I've just about set up all thirty one episodes but I am only up to watching episode 12.
I'm not going to watch all just some of Bit on the Side.

I've been going to sleep at 6am! that has got to stop.

I think I mainly want to catch up so I can then try to vote through facebook.

Is it just me or is Billy Connelly turning into a boring old fart with not much to say?? Route 66 was beautifully shot at times with some great camera work and evocative music, but everytime it switched to Connelly I muttered "Oh, FFS" as his inane ramblings ruined the moment.

Halfway through watching this thing about Veronica Guerin. Can't work out if she was extremely brave or extremely stupid :conf:
