You don't have to worry about that, now that I know you're heading back

Nice one anyway - it's definitely the right call unless there are some really huge demands on your time in London that you haven't explained.

I also, Crayons, was going to make a similar remark then I thought I'd better not since this was such a feel good thread. However, there are dangers to unannounced and unexpected arrivals.mummywhycantieatcrayons wrote:Ha - I was actually going say that myself!General Mannerheim wrote:

Guys on night-shift who ask for half-day holiday commencing at around 3am. There are rarely good reasons for this.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: General Chit Chat
Do it, General.
It's a bit different, but many years ago my girlfriend and I were on holidays at the same time. She didn't tell me but she had booked a week's holiday a few hundred kilometres up the coast; I only found out when I popped into see her and her parents let on where she'd gone. I flew back home (via car) packed a few things and launched myself northwards. Trains around here were, and still are, a bit like tortoises but on this occasion I beat her to her destination. After booking myself into a B&B style place I popped up to the railway station. You can imagine her surprise.
I've never regretted that impulse and have forgotten what it cost. She now is my wife.

General, you may think your daughter won't remember it but you will. Children change so quickly at this age and they are more aware than you think. Glad you decided to do this.
Give her a big birthday hug from all at The Wanderer too.

One trusts that the feared scenario of finding some bloke taters deep in your Doris was somewhat unfounded then, General?!
