Used to love a Findus crispy pancake. Had one a few years back and they seemed to have forgotten most of the filling
although im quite taken with the little snap pots you can get. saves washing up!
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Same here. Thing is, I don't know why I've never had one - I detest washing up.General Mannerheim wrote:never owned or used a dishwasher in my lifeparents never had on either.

Dishwashers are ace. Buy a decent one as it does make a difference. Mine is a Siemens and dishes always come out sparkly clean...just make sure any plastic you put in is dishwasher safe! Also go for a decent sized one. You can never fit as much in as they claim.

You'll be healthier without a dishwasher. F.A.C.T. with Fact piped in cream and little faclet-shaped hundreds and thousands sprinkled in a matter-of-fact manner all over it. With the ubiquitous cherry, obviously.

Re: What are you eating and drinking tonight?
A Portuguese wine tasting in Baron's in Harwood was a nice afternoon's recreation. Led by Marta, whose company supply Baron's, we tasted three very fine whites - three different styles, fragrant, citrus, assertively dry, or full and sort of creamy without being remotely sweet - then three different reds, all fantastic, the first medium bodied, a kind of drink this on its own wine, very, very pleasant, the next two increasing in weight and complexity and delicious. Then there were three ports - white, tawny, red - from the same port house. Each was great. The tawny especially was crying out for portuguese pasteis.
The wines came from Alentejo and the coastal region north of Lisbon. I was slightly disappointed that, apart from the Port, obviously, there was nothing from the Douro valley. Only slightly, what was there was so good.
I bought six bottles of red. Christmas reds now sorted.
Marta buys from small wineries who cannot supply a million bottles to Tesco. Some of them from small Alentejo cooperatives. I approve!
Home for the comfort food of pigs in blankets, boulangere potatoes and green beans. Blue cheese for seconds. The veggies had garlicky stuffed field mushrooms - which looked, and smelled, fab...
Have a spot of Old Pulteney malt beside me now, http://www.oldpulteney.com/old-pulteney ... ngle-malt/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Some vague, possibly mistaken, memory makes me think this might be a thebish favourite.

I ate a Parmo and chips yesterday whilst walking along Redcar seafront, drowned out those chemical fumes from the refinery quite well.
The above post is complete bollox/garbage/nonsense, please point this out to me at any and every occasion possible.

there are no tasteable chemical fumes from the refinery drifting across redcar - it's all in your head.

Daniel. It's handy for you that when you chime up on here about things you haven't a fecking clue about, there are those of us that do. The emissions of Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2) from stacks on Teesside are around 3mg per NM3 - that's 3 milligrammes per cubic metre. To put that in a context that I think you'll be able to understand, a teaspoon of sugar contains around 15,000 milligrammes. As such, in every cubic metre that comes out of a chimney there's 1/5,000th of a teaspoon of pollutant. However, if you were to extract the saturated fat from your Parmo and chips it'd fill a wine glass.bwfcdan94 wrote:I ate a Parmo and chips yesterday whilst walking along Redcar seafront, drowned out those chemical fumes from the refinery quite well.

I have got a train ticket and I recommend you hop on the train at Middlesbrough (preferably during the day time) and go past the chemical plant and I will guarantee you will be able to smell the gas, even the locals can to some extent(one of them even mentioned it to his 5 yr old daughter). If you want to live in denial that is fine but I have actually been to Redcar and have even got a train ticket to prove it. Have either of you been to Redcar? Have either of you done that train journey?

Re: What are you eating and drinking tonight?
Ate at the Rose & Crown in Edgworth last night, Had the sea bream served on creamed spinach, mushrooms, prawns and a lovely, creamy parsley sauce with a side of veg. perfectly cooked fish - really nice. My only criticism being that there wasn't enough veg. One new spud, one floret of broccoli and one floret of cauliflower served in a ramekin. But overall, yeah. Will definitely go again. The paucity of veg was easily surpassed by the excellence of the Timmy Taylor's Landlord!

I have presented you with facts, as has Bish. Dan - the company that I work for supply the filtration media that's used in said plants. We have to legally guarantee the emission levels. Do you understand the ramifications of that? (Of course not. Silly question from me) Do you work in the industrial filtration industry, Dan? Perhaps you know more about this than I do. However, it looks to me as though your 'argument' is based on nothing other than childishness and on you holding a grim view of Teesside. Did someone abuse you up there or something? Of course I've fecking been there - many more times than you have. A branch of our business is based there specifically to supply the very industry that you so clearly don't know anything about.

God only knows why I find myself justifying this to you!

Dan. Give it up eh.
Re: What are you eating and drinking tonight?
yes, Dan - I have been to redcar many times - and as recently as this summer... I used to live in Teesside.bwfcdan94 wrote:I have got a train ticket and I recommend you hop on the train at Middlesbrough (preferably during the day time) and go past the chemical plant and I will guarantee you will be able to smell the gas, even the locals can to some extent(one of them even mentioned it to his 5 yr old daughter). I can categorically state that there are no tasteable chemical fumes drifting across Redcar from the refinery. maybe - living in Reading - you are simply confusing "chemicals" with good healthy sea-air - because that's all you'll breathe in on Redcar seafront.
Re: What are you eating and drinking tonight?
I've got nothing against Teesside and even gave compliments to Stockton only to be told by some you that it was not a nice place, I have also said (and do believe) that Middlesbrough is better then what it is.
In simple Bish have you been on the train past the refinery?
