Crucial to get that early breakthrough. Massive morning - get em 3 down and we're in business.

Gone a bit too quiet now. Not sure why we took Jimmy and Broad off when they were hooping it. Woakes and Wood look less dangerous.

Doesn't look a bad track to bat on, TBF.

Thought that too. Early movement but there is even bounce and pace. Which is a shame. But what you expect at OT.

Australia will be pretty happy. They only need a draw.

Its going to be virtually impossible to force a result here in what will be 3 days of play. Not enough has happened this morning.

Just like the last couple this is a fine-edged toss-a-coin test. Anything can happen, but our lads seem well up for it, so....Que Sera.. :kettle:

Aye, I'm far from convinced DRS is 100% accurate. Thinking back to Stokes at Headingly, Oz had wasted their review and didn't have one for Stokes with us still 2 short, they couldn't review but DRS would've given it out.

I'm convinced it wasn't! It hit Stokes' front pad first then his back, but DRS only picked up the back pad and so thought it was a lot straighter than it was. I'm sure it was going down.

That Green one looked high and maybe even a bit leg-side too.

But as you say, who gives a sh*t (as long as it's in our favour!)

Yeah - there's a few times, you look at DRS and wonder. A bit like VAR, it probably gets rid of some howlers, but very difficult to entirely get it 100% and as long as it's the same for both, I think many people would accept that.

Feels like a decent day, but that'll only show one way or the other when we've started larruping the willow.

Jimmy - can't buy one at the moment.

Just can’t see how England can win this. Without the weather they are well placed after a good day. But assuming there are only two more days plus change…England tomorrow have to take 2 wickets and then score at such a rate that by close of play they are well in excess of the Aussie score. So say 450 in a day.

Then bowl them out cheaply.

Just too big an ask. Bloody Manchester and the weather.

299--8 at stumps. Still very much in the balance depending on what's next? Ideally, get the last pair out and run up a giant score then skittle em. Sounds simple....but it sure ain't.
