Don't know what weather's like in London, but it's been pouring down since four-o'clock here in Farnworth. Hope we don't have another cock-up tomorrow..

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet
^^ higher than 50/50 for rain, but forecast doesn't look quite as bleak as it did for OT. Aussies might not be too miffed with a rain affected draw. It would be their first Ashes win in Blighty for 22 years...
See we've picked the same team so retained Jimmy and India's up next for Tour, which will be a test for both our new style of cricket and Jimmy, both. Hopefully the chaps give it some thought about how they will play world class spin on wickets likely to help it. We know some of our line up a goid v spin, but a couple might be tested...

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet
Glee to gloom in four balls. England 62-2
Now Root for 5, proving the benefit of occasionally just bowling at the wickets. 78-3.

Michael Vaughan really gets on my wick at times. I'm sure he's a closet Aussie...

Just a Yorkshireman. I find him utterly appalling mostly. Which is a shame considering his achievements as captain. Inability to understand the game evolves. Not unlike Boycott.TANGODANCER wrote: ↑Thu Jul 27, 2023 2:57 pmMichael Vaughan really gets on my wick at times. I'm sure he's a closet Aussie...![]()

Anyhow, on a more serious note, 213 / 7 is feeling somewhat undercooked, but as ever, I'll reserve judgement until they've had a bat on it.

Root, Stokes and Bairstowe don't make a collective twenty between them. Not the best day for hero status....

Oz are still 200 plus behind, so no panic yet awhile. It can all change so quickly as we well know.
