I'll breathe a lot easier when (if?) he is gone from that crease.

Boycott was at it on Friday as well (claiming we'd won).
Boycott is a tit. But you already knew that.

To be fair, though, if we can't bowl them out in two days and one session, we don't deserve the Ashes, do we? And that's why I say the Ashes are ours to lose....time. It's a bitch sometimes. But it's two bloody days. It's not a dodgy spell or two. It's 40% of a test match.

Can the Englanders really lose from here or even be forced into a draw? I doubt it, unless for some reason the team becomes complacent - which I very much doubt will happen.

I was impressed with Jonathan Trott. From what I have seen of him he's a competent and level-headed young man (and he seems to be pretty good in the field as well). Assuming that they both develop normally, then with he and Mr Broad, the Englander team have two worthy men to fill the boots of probable retirees. Damn good to see.

As far as the Australander bowlers are concerned I'm in a quandary. Mitchell Johnson has his moments but for my money he is woefully inconsistent. Brett Lee hasn't figured in the current series which is a bit of a shame. No full-time spinners in the squad for The Oval struck me as odd from the outset. Mr. North has done a pretty decent job as a stand-in but, overall, it's been a pretty weak attack. That might sound a bit silly given that the top three bowlers of the series are Australanders. Given the results of Ben Hilfenhaus I'd like to see a 'strike team' of Lee and he in action.

Until then, "We'll meet again, don't know where don't know when . . . "

Surely Siddle has been the best Aussie bowler this series, the ugly b*stard!?

Expected stuff from Ponting. We have to just keep plugging and if we can't get him, run him out of partners. It isn't just as it appears on the scoreboard as both have had a bit of "charmed life" with lbw appeals etc. Keep plugging away because almost 400 is a massive total and the stats say no-way. Then again.....

COME ON YOU ENGLANDERS.

Carlsberg don't do run outs, but if they did, the ball would have bounced off the stumps and gone up Pontings arsehole.

Joking aside (Ponting is a superb player) that was sensational throwing from Flintoffski.

Tuffers has been singing its coming home all morning on 5 live.

Clarke out, Hilfenhaus in & Harmy is on a hattrick to win the ashes, come on.
If I should die, think only this of me:
That there's some corner of a foreign field
That is for ever England

Thank chuff for that - I can stop avoiding TV/radio now.

By last time's reckoning Collingwood must have got enough runs for a knighthood despite him being decidedly underwhelming once again.

Cracking win. And you know what, that was a proper team win an all. Everyone had either an innings, or a spell of bowling or took great catches. From Monty and Jimmy's defence at Cardiff, to Freddy and Jimmy's spells at Lords to Broady's polishing off Friday afternoon, each man's chipped in. Love it
