Had a double cheeseburger and medium fries off of the Pound Saver Menu at Middlebrook McDonald's as a pre-match meal. £2.58 ![Groovy :oyea:](./images/smilies/oyea.gif)

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Exactly. And, I'd just spent a Grand on dining furniture and needed a comestible hug.jaffka wrote:I could eat something like that now. Crumpets and toast successfully consumed. Can't even begin to think about a beer.
I keep thinking that I can still smell peach schnapps.

I'm guessing here (complete stab in the dark) but probably a combination of bed/drawers/wardrobes/bedside cabinets. Maybe a mattress. Stuff like that.

Re: What are you eating and drinking tonight?
well - the current table and chairs we've had for about 15yrs... still seem to work! (I can't see why it wouldn't last another 20 or more years..) I couldn't tell you what it's name is! it seats 10 at a pinch and came with 6 chairs... beech effect... expandable ends... 4 legs...jaffka wrote:which style?thebish wrote:nahhh... ikea...jaffka wrote:

Re: What are you eating and drinking tonight?
Sounds like it has done quite well. Although Ikea does have a reputation of starting to look quite worn and tatty after a few years...thebish wrote:well - the current table and chairs we've had for about 15yrs... still seem to work! Re: What are you eating and drinking tonight?
horses for courses, i suppose... I don't really care if it eventually looks a bit worn and tatty - a well used and marked family dining table (I think) should look well used - it reflects a long history of people sitting around it and enjoying time together - it bears the scars of happy memories... if anyone posh comes around who might care - i'd put a tablecloth over it and then who'd know?jaffka wrote:

Each to their own but from my own knowledge having just bought new dining furniture, I know that Bruce has paid around par.thebish wrote:horses for courses, i suppose... I'm quite happy that you have - but I suspect you have paid about par for dining furniture that costs about £1000, other price brackets also exist!

for my part - i'm simply too clumsy and careless to have posh furniture. I just KNOW that after a week or so I'd put a hot pan on it and burn it - or spill summat indelible on it - or the kids would have - or I'd do a bit of DIY on it and scratch it with a stanley knife... and I'd hate for every meal to be a real Zatmare of always having to put stuff on heat-stands and not put my coffee mug down on it etc.. I just KNOW that I'd stuff up one day and ruin it...
