Re: Today I'm angry about.....
My dad got his Saga renewal which was massively ramped up, so he asked to speak to one of the actuaries to querie how they'd managed this for a man with a zillion years no-claims and no notable change of circumstance. The guy listened to him, agreed with him, and gave him a renewal quote lower than the previous years premium. Sometimes it pays to remain calm Hoboh.Hoboh wrote:Car insurance just come through and I've just had a quote online for a better package, £60 cheaper than my current providers (its actually £20 cheaper than last years) and present insurers have said find it cheaper and we will beat it! they (Saga) can feck off I want the best price available first time not be part of a feckin' auction!Bruce Rioja wrote:The insurance bastards. I have my buildings and contents cover on the same policy for which I've just received my renewal notification, telling me how much my monthly payment will be over the next 12 months. That looks a bit steep, thinks I, and a quick calculation reveals that they're whacking it up by 16.7%
Unimpressed, I've just rang them in order that they furnish me with an explanation, only to be told, and get this.... "As there've been a number of claims in your area it's pushed everyone's premium up" Oh is that so? - and can you tell me how many of those claims have been made by me? "Err, none, Mr Rioja" So why am I picking up the tab for others then? "Err, well if you go onto a cost comparison website and find like for like cover for less we'll match it" Oh, will you now? That's very fecking big of you, and you still haven't answered my question, have you? "Well, like I say, if you can find like for.........." Oh, feck off!

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Absolutely it is Hoboh......................and they do exactly the same at the Reebok. A friend of mine had to buy a ticket for his son from 6 months old. On querying this, he was told that the Taylor report stated categorically that all fans must have a seat so they were just following the rulesHoboh wrote:http://news.uk.msn.com/uk/olympic-baby- ... minatory-3
Piss take is this, I mean buy a ticket for a baby? someone wants putting up against the wall but then again I suppose its down to the greedy Athletic mob rip off the taxpayer rip off the punters

Got my car insurance renewal through yesterday. Gone up by 50%.Lord Kangana wrote:My dad got his Saga renewal which was massively ramped up, so he asked to speak to one of the actuaries to querie how they'd managed this for a man with a zillion years no-claims and no notable change of circumstance. Rang up queried it they said "premiums have gone up across the board blah blah blah".
Said "well I'm on a price comparison now and they are quoting less than half what you are"...went through some details and suddenly I'm paying less than I was 5 years ago.
Result.
So cheers LK. Was about to go through the hassle of switching. Which as it turns out I didn't need to do.

at the church-run contact centre today....
new dad in for an hour's supervised contact... 9yr old son is brought in - sits next to his dad - son has brought with him the christmas card his dad sent him. he looks his dad in the eye and very deliberately tears the card in four - throws it at him and says he hates him...

Those supposed easy open lids on Pre-packaged food. I don't think a single one of them has ever easy opened for me.
I've just tackled an Asda salad for my dinner now; it took me twenty minutes to get into the bastard thing.

I have NEVER managed to get one of those lids off in a single piece - let along one-handed!

You need more practice with your peeling hand. I recommend Onanism.thebish wrote:CrazyHorse wrote:Those supposed easy open lids on Pre-packaged food. I don't think a single one of them has ever easy opened for me.

I love how on those adverts for muller fruit corners they peel back the lid in one easy piece - one-handed!!!

People who give you change that is placed on top of the receipt?
Why? FFS!
In what world does that make things easier?

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
Don't get it. Why does that make you angry, and why would you prefer the receipt on top of the change? You still have to count the change, and pocket the receipt. Maybe you'd like the receipt in one hand and the change in the other?BWFC_Insane wrote:People who give you change that is placed on top of the receipt?

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
I know its my own fault for trying to shop there but why can't I shop at M&S menswear department without 12 foot tall Jamie Redknapp's staring down at me with that insipid grin of his on every wall space?
Re: Today I'm angry about.....
Coz then you don't have to piss about waiting for old ladies fannying around putting their receipt in a special pocket in their purse which is in a special pocket in their bag while you hang around with £19.77 change for a packet of travel tissues.BWFC_Insane wrote:People who give you change that is placed on top of the receipt?

I work behind a bar and had a guy have a whinge coz I gave him his coins on his note. Got a job to do flower. Most of the proper folk just leave their money on the bar and I go digging. Good job I'm trustworthy.

But to be honest I'd rather start with "would you like a receipt"

Now you just have people with hands full of shopping bags, dropping the change as they try and separate it from the receipt with one hand, holding up the queue instead.Prufrock wrote:Coz then you don't have to piss about waiting for old ladies fannying around putting their receipt in a special pocket in their purse which is in a special pocket in their bag while you hang around with £19.77 change for a packet of travel tissues.BWFC_Insane wrote:People who give you change that is placed on top of the receipt?

I don't even need the bloody receipt for a coffee unless I'm claiming it back which in this case I wasn't!
Re: Today I'm angry about.....
Defo with you on the giving you a receipt for everything. Some places even say you get your money back if they don't give you one. For the likes of food and drink you should have to ask for one. As for the money on receipt, if there's a queue, just put it in your pocket and sort it out when you aren't flustered. If you just scrunch it up the receipt holds the change so you know which is what in your pocket!
