What are you eating and drinking tonight?

If you have a life outside of BWFC, then this is the place to tell us all about your toilet habits, and those bizarre fetishes.......

I'll tell you something, they haven't devised the category that fits me yet. Everytime I look down the lists, (male, female, other, prefer not to say, etc) I'm yet to find 'a bit of an animal'

Good job you had the Champers open and to hand then, eh?! :D

I once spent £150 on a pair of Charles Church shoes. Absolutely wonderful - couldn't wear them out other than for re-soling and re-heeling. However, I once needed then re-doing in a hurry so rather than take them to my usual cobblers I nipped them into Timpson's.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how to feck a £150 pair of shoes.
I'm doing lunch with Billy and Bob, whilst you lot are at work.

I generally get 1 pair a year - can sometimes stretch to 18 months at a pinch. Never bother with re-soling and re-heeling on Account of me running a lean operation with only one pair on the go at once! :-)

You're supposed to rotate usage of footwear in order to allow the sweat to dry out. Not doing so usually means smelly footwear :|

He was doing alright to cover the air of snobbishness, facing it head-on, right up-front, until he drew the comparison between the fact that it's unfair to treat foodies this way, as opposed to "someone who spends £150 on a pair of shoes" - which is common sense. Any credibility in relation to not being a snob, sorta disappeared.
This cropped on my 'how much do glasses cost' thread.

Are you saying that £150 is too much to pay for shoes?
Guess it's down to personal preference. I personally wouldn't (generally) pay £150 for a pair of shoes - my missus would probably think she'd got a bargain. I operate a fairly strict "use one pair until I need a new pair" for work shoes. Golf Shoes are an exception to this rule. :-)
Sound like me. 1 pair black, 1 brown, 8 pairs of running shoes.
My work shoes are some that my dad got for 50p in a staff clearance sale at M&S when his wife worked there.

One thing to be fair to F&Bs... It's dear at full price, but no one pays full price. Usually 2 for 1 mains on offers etc is why people go.

Not for me though.

Nah it works out cheaper. When I've been it's been 20-25 2 course and drinks for the two of us with the offer. Probs about a tenner cheaper than you'd expect to pay for something proper, but a false economy, coz its shite.

They don't actually expect anyone to pay the menu price, they want you to thing that you've struck a bargain by employing one of their ubiquitous discount offers. It's still shit food even if they gave it you for free, but no end of mugs leave the place, fed on shit at a still exorbitant price, yet having convinced themselves that they've struck a good deal.

Ah right I'm with you. Yeah certainly think that applies, particularly at pizza express, where no one has ever paid full price. Just pointing out people don't pay the 35£ headline price in that review.

No arguments on the rest.

A decent chain if it makes it's way to the UK for you to try is PF Changs . It's nothing fancy but tasty Chinese food that's a bit different to the usual available in the UK. The chicken lettuce wraps are fantastic. Portions are typically American!

Had some ripe banana's, so with the kids made some banana and chocolate chip loaf cake for the first time. It actually tastes pretty good - and has banana in so I'm classing it as a health food! 8)
