Racist. Why not just "Swan" ??Bruce Rioja wrote:Black Swan for me.General Mannerheim wrote:So - what has been everyone's favourite film of 2011 then?
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Was it not a coloured swan?

Re: What are you watching tonight?
I liked Black Swan, but I didn't think it was that good. I mean with proper head on. There's a huge part of me shouting, 'Dude, Portman and Kunis, ALL over each other' but I didn't quite get it. Even with Vinnie. I can't actually contribute to the question, because I can never remember which films I've seen at the cinema/at home (no, that does mean I have a MASSIVE telly). Best film I've seen for the first time this year was probably Vicky Cristina Barcelona. I did like Micmacs, and La Haine (not my fav Vinnie performance though...) but I've seen a lot of films I liked this year, can't think of one I loved.

Vicky Cristina Barcelona was a disgrace of a film (and a damning indictment of the female psyche).
Allen's effort this year, Midnight in Paris, was much better.

I loved it. To read as any sort of indictment of the female psyche is to miss the point IMO!

Good to see they're keeping "some" sense of proportion. No Miracle on 84th Street, and not even a smell of Zulu.Bruce Rioja wrote:The Railway Children's on - yeay!!!

Tonight i'll no doubt be watching The Bourne Identity/Ultimatum/Supremacy or Rocky 1/11/111/1V/V while partaking of my 4th or 5th glass of malt. Why break the weeks's pattern?
If i'm really lucky The Godfather will be on again somewhere.

C4 News at 7 o'clock (so, in 45 minutes then) will be running a piece that they filmed today at a BHWT rescue in Essex. There's a slight chance that you'll be able to catch a glimpse of Gooner Girl and/or thebish rescuing battery hens. Should we not be so fortunate as to catch a glimpse of either of them - bleeding, scratched and caked in shit, then at least you can, should you wish, hopefully understand a little more about the excellent work that they carry out.
