am a little surprised that there hasn't been more made of Mad-dog Farage's "mistake"..

he accidentally set up a Farage Family Education Trust 1654 in the Isle of Man in 2003, with the intention of limiting the amount of inheritance tax that his children would have to pay upon his death...

hmmm...

He's also closed it without having paid anything into it.

Either way he's still a bellend.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

There is that. A bellend of the people though, he'd have you believe!

I'm happy with that.

An ordinary, decent bellend, if you will.

A bellend I almost voted for. Well not him as a specific bellend, but whichever surrogate man of the people bellend that was standing in my constituency. Not that I owned it, just lived in it. And I'd like to point out that I managed to refrain. Not from living, but from voting.

Bolton's teachers the first to go on strike. I reckon they'll go home at about 3.30 though.

I for one am shocked and disappointed to discover that the burger scoffing George Osborne isn't apparently a man of the people after all.

I have some mates in London who love a Byron burger. One of them did go to public school but I wouldn't say it was an overly posh when I went. I'd rather have a gourmet burger from Wetherspoon's personally.

Quite likely the person who thought up this novel way of persecuting the poor has several spare rooms - some of them in Tuscany...

The difference being - they own their spare rooms and pay for them.

Living within your means applies to everybody. Wouldn't you agree? I'm stunned by the reaction of supposed Socialists to the 'Bedroom Tax'. I'd have thought that it'd be something you'd be championing to make sure everyone gets a roof over their heads and sufficient room in which to live. If you've gone cap in hand to the local authority for accommodation, why would expect to be granted as some sort of right more capacity than you actually require? Another thing is this rent arrears business that according to the Beeb has come about as a result. Absolute fecking hogwash and a pathetic excuse not to pay the rent. What exactly are these people spending their money on? My most important payment every month is my mortgage - when the interest rate moves against me shall I cry penury, blame the ruling body, bleat that I can't afford it and use it as an excuse to renege on the payments ? Or shall I review my budget and weigh up the option of moving to somewhere that doesn't have two spare rooms?

So - council house dwellers go 'cap in hand' now do they?

The rich man at his castle, the poor man at his gate, God made them high and lowly, and ordered their estate...

All together now...

All things bright and beautiful... all creatures great and small...

For me it's hard to argue against the concept of the bedroom tax in that folk in all other forms of private rented housing have their housing benefit reduced for each unoccupied bedroom. However, it's not hard to see why folk who may originally have been living with a partner & child, and are now in a 2 bed property on their own, will struggle to suddenly find a tenner a week out of theur universal credit.

The biggest scandal though imo, is that the whole idea behind it was to encourage folk in council properties larger than they need, to look at downsizing and then they excluded pensioners. The largest group of folk who are underoccupying social housing  OAPs were included in the original draft but were allegedly written out after a group of em harangued Grant Schapps at some public meeting and he bottled it.
