Petty ..... pointless ...... irremedial .... 'get a life' type anger.Annoyed Grunt wrote:Annoyed with the Channel 4 announcer thinking he's being witty calling The Simpsons something else. Such as tonight...The Scooby Snacks and The Donaldsons.
Yes, very petty anger.
EXACTLY what we want. Good for you.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

the un-necessary use of the word "allegedly"
as in
"John Terry has been charged with allegedly using racist language towards fellow footballer Anton Ferdinand"
NO!!!
John Terry has been charged with using racist language towards fellow footballer Anton Ferdinand
if he is found guilty he will not be found guilty of allegedly using racist language towards fellow footballer Anton Ferdinand, he will be found guilty of using racist language towards fellow footballer Anton Ferdinand
if he is found innocent he will not be found innocent of allegedly using racist language towards fellow footballer Anton Ferdinand, he will be found innocent of using racist language towards fellow footballer Anton Ferdinand

Not disputing that you're right, just haven't noticed any especial issues with what I have.

I don't even know what version I use.
And I don't care.
And I don't care.

More frustrated than angry.
The politics and potential minefield that comes with buying Valentines stuff for someone you've only been with a few short weeks. Avoidance of the "L" word, for instance. Or worrying whether you're going over/underboard with the amount/price of gifts...
Sod it, lets get pissed.

Truewhite: Avoid valentines completely with the legitimate arguement that its for people who want to get together, not those who are together, which is what anniversary cards are for. By taking the moral highground of not observing a manufactured Clinton's holiday, you save a lifetime of spending inflated amounts on flowers and other associated Valentines tat.

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
Back to whinging:
Today I'm still pissed off with the company from which I purchased a weather station as a replacement for one which was 'zapped' during a storm. It was faulty. Following instructions from its representative I returned it to them by 'Reply Paid' mail. It turned up yesterday at the P.O. of despatch marked 'refused acceptance'. That means that to bail the package from the postal service I had to pay the freight both ways, a sum of about £12 in your dosh denominations. The unit itself is probably worth about £400 - £500. My boiling blood has reduced to a simmer pending the result of an e-mail I launched yesterday requesting an explanation within seven days.

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
Same argument works for Christmas, if you think about it. Why pass up an opportunity to do prezzies and spend time together. Sure we all like to anyway, but an extra chance? Say no coz you don't need to, like any 'holiday'.Bijou Bob wrote:Truewhite: Avoid valentines completely with the legitimate arguement that its for people who want to get together, not those who are together, which is what anniversary cards are for. Re: Today I'm angry about.....
I make sure that my girlfriend is treated with love and respect for 365 days of the year and do random things, rather than observe a manufactured holiday because of spurious moral pressure. A good friend of mine got a private number plate and 80 quids worth of roses from her b/f on Valentine's Day a few years back. Sadly, the rest of the year he spent beating the living daylights out of her. The case for the defence rests m'lud.Gooner Girl wrote:Mrs bob is a lucky ladyBijou Bob wrote:Truewhite: Avoid valentines completely with the legitimate arguement that its for people who want to get together, not those who are together, which is what anniversary cards are for.
