Can't be doing with American recipes, measuring ingredients in 'cups'?? Which one, my tea mug, the best china that we use when the wife's Gran comes for tea, the emergency mugs that only get used when we have lots of people around???? It's just too confusing.
I wouldn't even know what pinterest was anyway, or how to use it.

Whilst in Poland last week I was served a slice of apple pie. Only, where we use pastry this utilised desiccated coconut. Absolutely lush. Need to find a recipe for that and have a crack at it. Seriously good.

You can get a set of cups off amazon, I quite like using them actually, a darn sight easier then scales.Burnden Paddock wrote:Can't be doing with American recipes, measuring ingredients in 'cups'?? Pinterest is fab, you should get your awesome cake baking missus into it, there's tons of inspiration. It's possibly a bit of a girly thing but it's like a online pin board. You can pin anything, stuff like recipes, pretty pictures

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Trust me. You haven't seen gurning until you've seen the photo that my Father's Day mug has on it. Hmmm. I might have a look and show her the recipes. It might save having to pay for 3-4 cooking magazines every month. She has that Kitchen Aid mixer in 'Candy Apple Red'.Gooner Girl wrote:You can get a set of cups off amazon, I quite like using them actually, a darn sight easier then scales.Burnden Paddock wrote:Can't be doing with American recipes, measuring ingredients in 'cups'?? 3 - Me (Or more likely her extensive collection of cookery books)
Can you search other peoples pages to get a wider view of recipes etc? No, i'm not thinking of searching for nudie laydees before anyone suggest it! Or am I?

Re: What are you eating and drinking tonight?
nobody needs cooking magazines or books - there are recipes for just about anything you want/need to cook freely available on the internet!

Try telling that to Mrs BP. Many of her books were acquired prior to the widespread availability of online recipes tbf.

You can search other peoples pages or pin recipes you have found via Google etc and don't want to lose.
I'm surprised you're so high up on the list! You don't have any pets then?!

Well, if you can find me an 'apple pie made with desiccated coconut crust' recipe, that'd be ace.thebish wrote:nobody needs cooking magazines or books - there are recipes for just about anything you want/need to cook freely available on the internet!

Re: What are you eating and drinking tonight?
if you mean the mixer - i don't blame him - they cost a fecking fortune! just get yourself a half-decent food processor - it'll handle all the cooking you're likely to throw at it...Gooner Girl wrote:

COCONUT PIE CRUSTBruce Rioja wrote:Well, if you can find me an 'apple pie made with desiccated coconut crust' recipe, that'd be ace.thebish wrote:nobody needs cooking magazines or books - there are recipes for just about anything you want/need to cook freely available on the internet!
1½ c dessicated coconut (can whiz to make finer)
2 T wholemeal flour (or corn flour)
pinch Celtic sea salt
nut milk or soy milk or juice, approx ½ c
Combine coconut and flour. Add enough nut milk to bind. Press into oiled pie plate and bake for 12 - 15 mins at 180°C. This tends to burn easily.
add the apple yourself!

Somewhere down the list - Me!
I'll have to take a look and see if I can convince her. Depends how the search function works and how it selects the results, I suppose.

Afternoon off and staying in with the kids for once. Have promised we can make gingerbread men. They are very excited, I am already dreading the mess.

Re: What are you eating and drinking tonight?
as the sheer pant-wetting excitement of waiting to be bored to buggery watching England... I got peckish..
found a recipe for a jam sponge pudding (could also be syrup if you want) that I made from scratch with basic ingredients - start to finish - literally only 10mins - done - bosh! enough (allegedly) for 4 people - though I reckon i can polish the lot off myself before the end of the game..
