Jeez. You manage to bat through a couple of World Wars and make it all the way to 100, and all you get to show for it is a check from DWP that no bugger's conning them out benefits and a telegram from Iain Duncan-Smith?????Little Green Man wrote:My gran's 100 today. wahayy! 3month sabbatical starts today!
setting off on epic round Britain m/bike pilgrimage early on wednesday morning - 2 days to work out:
1. what to take with me
2. how to fit it all on the bike!
oh - yeah - and I have a cold that started last night!

^ I was watching a pair of old farts mature riders on Staffordshire Services last Thursday. The weather weather was quite reasonable but they had so many layers of wollies and waterproofs on you'd have thunk they were going to the Arctic on a bad day.

In the sense of visiting holy places?thebish wrote:aye - weather report today said it is awful today and tomorrow - then brightening up and warming up from wednesday onwards!clapton is god wrote:Sounds fantastic, and perfectly timed for the weather.thebish wrote:wahayy! 3month sabbatical starts today!![]()

I am visiting many of the most famous sites of Christian Pilgrimage in Britain - which is (basically) a jaunt around the coastline of Great Britain (including Scotland, Ireland and Wales). Whether that makes it a "real pilgrimage" might be a matter of debate! (no indulgences will be purchased and I am not looking for any miraculous healing...)

I'm a bit jealous. I have been to much of Scotland (even to Cape Wrath or as close as the car would go) but never got across to Mull and so missed Iona too.Bruce Rioja wrote:Went a few years ago, Tango.
