What a load of tosh

I don't see why that is a response to what I wrote - because I have never argued for the creation of positions that claim moral high ground. I think you must be having a debate there with an invisible opponent - as I have not seen that argued here by anyone.Lord Kangana wrote:I'm arguing that unless and until we do away with positions that purportedly claim moral highground, and we simultaneously do not hold people to those higher standards, we are encouraging hypocrisy.thebish wrote:really not sure what you're arguing??Lord Kangana wrote:No, but (and read this carefully) he's in a job that has asked for higher standards. He was a member of the Hitler Youth, historically undeniable. He's clearly the same as the rest of us.
that he shouldn't be pope?? I'd agree.
that he's a Nazi - I'd disagree.
where did i ever claim the pope was not "the same as the rest of us"? you've lost me. (admittedly - easily done!)
in that case we have a simple disagreement. I don't think that reluctant conscription into the hitler youth aged 14 makes someone a Nazi, whether they end up as pope or not. whether or not he should be pope is another question, but we were not arguing about his qualifiations to be pope - rather whether a convincing case could be made for calling him a Nazi.Lord Kangana wrote:As it stands, its proof enough of complicity thtat he was a member of the Hitler Youth.

Nor did I when they simply boiled it to green gunge (UK recipe). But Chinese crispy spinach, spinach in soup, on pizzas or simply raw in a salad are all quite pleasant.Worthy4England wrote:I don't like spinachWilliam the White wrote:Why is it unfortunate to love peas? Oh don't get started on U.K. overcooked vegetable recipes. It wasn't until I had a holiday in England that I understood why brussel sprouts are so hated.Montreal Wanderer wrote:Nor did I when they simply boiled it to green gunge (UK recipe).
