Not sure Bell weathers them very well @ 3 for England...mrkint wrote:Because he hasn't got the head for it, for me. Would have bell there anyway, seeing as he's one of the few who can weather storms.

We have the first break through (Warner) but it could be a long day.
And he'd scored all the runs.

I don't share your optimism. But we've more chance now 'cos I've found my lucky England hat. Didn't have it for the last one and look what happened. Sorry.Prufrock wrote:Anyway, feck it, balls out prediction, big win for us. Cook to be key. About time he steps up

I did. You'd think people that get paid to watch the cricket might get this sort of thing right.thebish wrote:It was haddin, I think - bruce prolly heard the R5 first report which said it was clarke...TANGODANCER wrote:Was it Clarke or Haddin who got dropped? Re: Winter ashes...
Clarke was dropped by Root from a much more difficult chance, diving to his right. Carberry's was a much easier one. He should also have caught the ball when it bounced off his hand.

Re: Winter ashes...
Don't start poking fun at Carberry for that one. I thought that his performance at the 'Gabba was terrific. Even though his team was being hammered he never dropped his head; like a terrier off its leash he chased every ball that came his way and made some wonderful stops. To a batsman he's a dangerous fielder as some of his returns were also very good indeed. For Pete's sake don't crucify him for one unfortunate incident.
Re: Winter ashes...
anyway - we've had our half decent day.... that's your lot!
I predict Oz being 467 all out and us being 37 for 4 at the end of day two!

Currently 429 for 5 - we'll be lucky top get them out under 600.

Re: Winter ashes...
Good job dropping Clarke and Haddin early on didn't prove costly. Don't blame yerselves. ![Smile :-)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
(In fariness Root's "drop" would have been a great catch)
