Rancid announce 'unique set list' tour
04 August 2006 4.04pm
Currently on tour of the US, Rancid have just announced UK dates. The Californian punks, formed by Matt Freeman and Tim Armstrong in 1991, have over 150 songs to choose from every night and each set will be unique in itself. In other words you will not hear the same set twice.
With tracks such as I'm Not the Only One, Nihilism, Salvation, Ruby Soho, Let Me Go and Red Hot Moon to choose from, other songs will never have been played live before or will be songs from Operation Ivy and both Lars Frederiksen and the Bastards records.
Rancid is preparing a retrospective DVD to be released before their new record in 2007. The full tour itinerary is:
Monday 6 November - Manchester Academy
Tuesday 7 November - Birmingham Academy
Wednesday 8 November - Glasgow Barrowlands
Thursday 9 November - Edinburgh Studio 24
Saturday 11 November - Leeds University
Sunday 12 November - Nottingham Rock City
Monday 13 November - Newcastle Academy
Thursday 16 November - Brixton Academy
Saturday 18 November - Norwich UEA
Sunday 19 November - Bristol Academy
Monday 20 November - Brighton Dome
I take it there are plenty of tickets available?

Really? They normally put on a helluva show. Of course they've been touring all year, and I cant believe that they would even considwer playing a festival again after Rokkslide.
Still, I have always found that if you like their new stuff you'll like their shows. It might not translate to a big festival. However I am biased as I have seen them 9 times.

Set List from Leeds: Go, Animal, Corduroy, World Wide Suicide, Hail Hail, Severed Hand, Given To Fly, Green Disease, Even Flow, Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town, Insignificance, Daughter(It's Ok), Lukin, Whipping, Not For You, State Of Love And Trust, Black, Porch
Encore 1 Why Go, Do The Evolution, Life Wasted, Alive, Rockin' In The Free World
A pretty decent set for a dedicated PJ fan, but not their best by far for a neutral. Altthough it is an example of their multiple set argument.

What I want a know is what makes you think your different? I mean, do you wear big signs pointing to your head saying "Indie", or do you wear stupid clothes like these 14 year old "I need to be part of something" children go for?Henrik's fan club wrote:Yeah cheers mate. I know ALL the people on here gain so much pleasure from beating up those who are differentmofgimmers wrote:So, basically, all the lads who want to beat up Indie kids, you now where to find 'em now.
Do call again.
I'm just trying to ascertain what it is about you that means you get beat up while joe public (let's say for sake of arguement, he's wearing inconspicuous jeans and a t-shirt) gets off with nothing?
