OK - let's get into the hard stuff..
the Parrot Sketch - simply isn't funny (anymore).
it might be pining - it might be a fecking Norwegian Blue - but John - I'm so far stuck up my own arse that I can see the backs of my own eyes - Cleese just makes my blood boil with his self-satisfied - weren't we ever so cleverly funny routine...

As for Chaplin, can see where you are coming from but you are sooooo wrong. Harold Lloyd, Laurel and Hardy so many people have tried to copy them and failed badly.
