Simply narow, short bars of different colours appearing intermittenly on the picture. Also tried re-tuning several times.BWFC_Insane wrote:When you say 'bars' what do you mean?TANGODANCER wrote:Not your actual pc technology, but TV. Since last-week's re-tune on digital TV, one of our sets is behaving weirdly on BBC One and Two and several Freeview channels. Keep getting bars coming up and even spells of picture loss. Not long back we had a roof repair and a new ariel fitted to that set, but the guy's been back, checked it and declared it fine. Anybody else having any reception problems? The other set (the one I watch most) is fine. Weird.
I wonder if for some reason it's tried to re-tune itself to the wrong transmitter?

Have you tried doing a manual re-tune? http://www.digitaluk.co.uk/coveragechec ... l_retuning" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;TANGODANCER wrote:Simply narow, short bars of different colours appearing intermittenly on the picture. Probably won't solve it but worth a go. You put your postcode in the web link above and it talks you through it.
When you re-tuned did you do it as a 'first time installation' option if you have one?

Granada/BBC N-West stopped using channels 61 & 62 and are now using 49 & 50 instead Tano. So Auto retune where you live should work that out, if it doesn't then manual retune using 49, 50, 54, 55, 58 & 59 should do the job.BWFC_Insane wrote:Have you tried doing a manual re-tune? http://www.digitaluk.co.uk/coveragechec ... l_retuning" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;TANGODANCER wrote:Simply narow, short bars of different colours appearing intermittenly on the picture. Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Yep. The instructions talk through how to do that. However as he's getting the channels but with break up, I'd suggest it's either picking up the wrong transmitter or the aerial or cabling needs re-doing. It's strange that one telly works but the other doesn't.......bobo the clown wrote:Granada/BBC N-West stopped using channels 61 & 62 and are now using 49 & 50 instead Tano. Re: Technology Thread.
Easily explained; seperate ariels. I'll get somebody to check the cable on the problem one when the wind dies down that is. Causing all sorts of damage around us to fence panels, gates etc, loads of branches in the roads. Big conifer blown down a few doors away. Hope it doen't get much worse.BWFC_Insane wrote: Yep. Ahhh I see. Well I'd suggest to try the manual re-tune first. Then if not get the aerial/cabling looked at.TANGODANCER wrote:Easily explained; seperate ariels. Or indeed wait for the wind to die down. The wind might be innocent, but it is a suspect at this stage.

Miele and Dyson I find are best. Probably not the definition of reasonably priced though. Them Henry hoovers aren't bad. There is an Italian brand, the name escapes me, but utter shite. Re: Technology Thread.
TV problem? Engineering works may cause some transmitters to be offline, low powered while wok is done on them. Missus GD told me this yesterday. Below, ignore "Page not found" and put your postcode house number in the boxes on the right.

Mrs Grunt's* may well be a good sucker, but Mrs Spot's has fallen apart at the very plastic seams, which makes it the second Dyson to commit hari-kiri in under four years. Meanwhile Mr Spot's industrial strength Hoover Aquamaster (which Mrs Spot refuses to use on the basis it doesn't look very fashionable

I'd like to spend nearer £100 than £200, is what I'm thinking.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:Miele and Dyson I find are best. Probably not the definition of reasonably priced though. Anyone got any specific models they have been happy with?
