Is that on tele, General, or have you taken it out?General Mannerheim wrote:Watching 'Dreams of a life' tonight, been waiting for it for ages.
its a true story / docu-drama type job, all about Joyce Vincent, who died alone in her flat but wasn't discovered for three years - and was only eventually found when some bailiffs turned up with a repossession order and broke the door down. apparently the tv was still playing. chilling stuff, but the most tragic thing is she wasnt a loner, she had a job, friends, and astoundingly THREE sisters... yet in all their hustle & bustle lives, nobody reported her missing?
looking forward to it!

I was flipping through the TV guide. It's on after midnight on some preview channel, but I noticed Walkabout (with a very young Jenny Agutter) is on tonight.Bruce Rioja wrote:Done. I'm up for a few more recommends off of you too, when you're ready, ChiefGeneral Mannerheim wrote:

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Yeah no worries, not seen owt mind blowing for a bit, not new anyway but all the best films from last year are out on DVD now - Snowtown, Kill List, Tyrannosaur, we need f'talk about Kevin, Melancholia... Snowtown is my favourite, absolutely brutal! And based on a true story too which always helps. If your owt like me you'll spend two hours watching it then 2hrs reading up on actual events!.. Then probably watch again! Quality.Bruce Rioja wrote:Done. I'm up for a few more recommends off of you too, when you're ready, ChiefGeneral Mannerheim wrote:

'Ace' more fitting than sublime. It's pretty blokey, grrrr! Whole different league to sucker punch.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
I've never heard it described as shite. Alot of peeps said they thought it was great but were let down by the ending. It's pretty contentious but didn't detract for me. Tremendous.
'Dreams of a life' is brilliant too. Glad it was, would of hated for such an intriguing story be let down by a shit film, but this is pretty haunting, powerful stuff.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Bit late with this I suppose, but last night I watched Frank Skinner & his documentary about George Formby on BBC 4. Bloody good it was too.
