The red bit isn't nearly big enough.
In a world that has decided
That it's going to lose its mind
Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.

Whilst I'm not a big dog lover, whoever did this should probably get the same treatment.

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
Aye, Grunt, there's plenty of scum around in this world.
Just yesterday north of Sydney in an area known colloquially as 'The Central Coast' a twelve year old child lit a bushfire. He did a pretty good job of it. Fortunately for local residents the fire was heading away from property and worried firefighters were spared the wind change that would have pushed it into residential areas. Smoke from the fire caused the closure of the freeway (motorway to some of you) linking the region to Sydney. If press reports are correct this resulted in a traffic bank-up of 10 kilometres.
I can imagine people 'tut-tutting' and saying such things as "Ah, children and matches, it's to be expected." Not this little arsonist though; prior to his planned adventure he broke into a house in his neighbourhood and stole 'accelerants' from its store room. He's been arrested and awaits his court appearance.
Maybe it's my past experience in the local Rural Fire Service and also having to defend my own home from bushfires, but I have no time for excuses from those who choose to put others - including wildlife and stock - at risk by playing with fire.

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
I'm not going to take too long to be angry about this, because that would kind of defeat the point, but I sat in one of those coffee shops yesterday (see previous rant) and listened to the only other chap in there spend twenty minutes on the phone talking some of the most unimagineable bollox I have ever heard in all my born days.
I believe this is referred to as "management speak". I had absolutley no clue what he was on about, and I'm fairly certain he didn't either. He looked well dressed though, so clearly theres a living to be made for people who know f*ck all about anything but who can find enough morons to pay them to do it.

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

As a consultant in the utilities sector I come across people like this on a daily basis. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING is in jargon or abbreviated to initials. One client talks about a PAC meeting which, I'm told, means going cap in hand to the board to justify a budget to drive a development forward. We usually have to submit figures a month before this so they can be ratified (a pre-PAC meeting). The other day we were told we now need to provide estimates of the formal quotes a month ahead of that which they are calling pre,pre PAC meeting.

And I still don't know what PAC actually stands for.

Unfortunately, they are found in most workplaces these days. I usually make some acronym up and watch the horror on their face when they realise they don't know it and then struggle to blag itGary the Enfield wrote:Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:pricks, arseholes and cnutsGary the Enfield wrote:

"Project Accounts Committee" in my experience .... ie a bunch of people who suck their teeth & chew wasps and have permission to "be difficult" when anyone wants to spend some money.
I do quite enjoy looking bemused as management-speak tossers and then saying "I have NO idea what you've just said".
It's often an 'Emperors' New Clothes" moment as many people there will quietly brave up to admit they were a little "off beam" also but were keen to appear"on message" and so were "keeping the Genie in the bottle" until a "primary reveal opportunity" presented itself.
Above, in case you're wondering, I have just maximised the paradigm.
I think.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

There's an internal document we have which lists all of our official acronyms. I just checked, 164.

followed a kid on an L-plate scooter through the centre of Paignton today... he was right up the arse of the car in front - constantly revving his sh*tty little sewing machine with his right hand and looking down to the left - where he was holding his mobile phone and texting someone.... he was wearing shorts and a t-shirt with sandals....

I did roar past him at the lights and turn to give him a stern glare through my tinted visor...
(i should add that - given he was texting someone - he was not wearing gloves either...)
