What are you watching tonight?

On the subject of Batman, the brother in law has booked tickets to see it at the IMAX in Laanndaannn when we're down there in a few weeks. Neither of the first 2 films appealed, so we have never watched them. The question is, do I rent the first 2 and watch those, or treat it as a standalone film and enjoy/hate it for what it is?

you have to watch the others first, theres a few bits were you go "oh, that from x film before.. i wondered what that were / that makes sense now"

what youre proposing to do is a bit like watching "Star Wars" and watching darth vader go " i'm your dad, pal " after not seeing the first one or the first half of the second.

Cheers, thought as much. Suppose I was always going to watch them, it was just that the brother in law suggested I could watch the last one as a stand alone film. I'll see if anyone at work has a copy they want to lend me. Failing that it's down to Blockbuster.

Saw TDKR the other day without having seen the first two. Still a good movie.

Apparently it's made for IMAX and it kicks A$$ on it in a similar way to Inception, so that's definitely the way to see it!

I liked the Tim Burton films so I felt this one was a bit too realistic, I want more gothic/cartoon-y like Sin City and the previous batman movies. Seeing green grass seemed a bit odd. I think Nolan is a good director and should do a decent job at Superman which doesn't have to be as gothic to make me happy.

Both batmans from this one are on love film on't tele at moment for those with fancy tv's...i'm waitting a week or so for a quieter cinema/rain.

Watched "Jon Richardson: A Little Bit OCD" tonight, a very interesting program showing people at different points on the scale - some were housebound by it.

Made me think about some of the odd things I used to be compelled to do - here's one, I used to get on buses and my brain would tell me that if I got on with a single ticket it had to be binned on the bus, but if it was a return ticket I had to remove it from the bus and bin it at home, and if I didnt then my mum would die. Sometimes it'd be my step dad or my dog, but someone would die if I didnt do it.

Thankfully its gone away almost totally now but I did get funny urges now and again. A word might drop in my head and I have to say it no matter how daft it is, or I might handle something where theres more than one of them (oh aye!) like cutlery or something like that, then have to touch all the rest of them too before I can move off. But its rare now that - thank fook!

Yeah you really need to see the first two. I rewatched The Dark Knight but not BB, and I felt like I should have rewatched BB after TDKR.

Someone mentioned 24 earlier. I loved 24, one of my favourites. I'm of the opinion then they get better as the seasons go on, and the last season is the best. Hope the movie is still in the works.

Watched BBC4 (great channel) - History of Art in Three Colours. Excellent. Tonight the colour was gold, and the programme ranged from the treasures of Tutankhamen, to Christian Byzantium, to Florence and Cellini, to Klimt's The Kiss, the invention of gold plating in Birmingham and a modern Icon painter in a garden shed in England (can't remember where), who starts work with a prayer that Jesus be within him...

Next week the colour is Blue. Expect Picasso in the early years of the last century, Yves Klein later, and the Virgin Mary all over the place...

not the greatest - but turned into a 2hr comedy by my son and daughter taking the piss for the whole time - hence very enjoyable!!

Had to do that bugger for O Level. The only way I got through it was by doing the same.

The highlight was "The Soliloquy" which we'd been told to "keep a special eye on". The good news is that during it, Henry was in behind a tent canvas with his hilted sword, that cast a shadow like a bloke with a huge knob.

My lasting memory of Shakespeare. Oh, that and thumbing your nose at people.
