Just on my way to El Rincon for the first time since it reopened. They're possibly fed up with people asking for ratatouille, so I won't bother.

Several pints of Wobbly Bob - not a beer I had come across before - very acceptable!

Went to Amans Indian, just off East Lancs Rd in Tyldesley. Well done out restaurant, absolutely packed at 19:00 (I only recently discovered Indian's opened before pubs shut). Food was superb, although maybe a tad underpowered. Will be going again.

Is Leo's still going in Monton? Love that place. In fact, the amount of very decent restaurants around there are what I really miss now that I've left the area.Worthy4England wrote:Not tried that one, was in Monton last weekend.Harry Genshaw wrote:I was just down the road from you then yesterday Worthy. Heard people banging on recently about how coconut water is supposedly the elixir of eternal youth and vitality, so, Morri's had it on offer and I thought I'd give it a run out. For the love of God don't go anywhere near this fecking stuff. It is, without a shadow of a doubt the most boggin' liquid ever to have past my lips. There's now a full carton minus one glass worth in my bin. Trust me, I've taken one for the team here. Absolutely vile. It doesn't even have a hint of a taste of coconut

Dunno tbh. It's wine bar central at the moment and when I played cricket for them, we never got past the Indian...some of the wine bars are decent enough and do food (if wine bars are your thing). Wife spotted one selling Cristal at just £240. I pointed out she could have a pint of Crystal in the Holt's pub the other end of the street...Bruce Rioja wrote:Is Leo's still going in Monton? From what my old man was saying I think it's gone Bruce. Theres a decent looking pizza place there now. I'd never been to Monton before but it reminded me of some of those London suburbs I used to visit (Putney, Barnes etc) with lots of good looking eateries on the high street. I'll definitely be going back to try some of them outBruce Rioja wrote:Is Leo's still going in Monton? Love that place. It got a rating on trip advisor about a week ago...
Enoteca was pleasant enough and Bodega ok. The Blind Pig, I thought was a rip off and not very pleasant...the Bell was same as ever.

Used to go out drinking around there a few years ago, incredible how it has changed. Went back to the Park Hotel last Christmas (usual spot for xmas eve beers) and was amazed to see so many more bars, eateries and other places as opposed to an all you can eat curry house, bargain booze and Pizza Knight.Harry Genshaw wrote:From what my old man was saying I think it's gone Bruce. Good choice Worthy! I live not far away from there. It's very popular, one of my friends takes her 15 mth old son in there. He loves it, eat loads. (I kid you not he's 15 months old!!!)
Re: What are you eating and drinking tonight?
Are you supposed to drink it or bathe in it, Bruce??Bruce Rioja wrote:Heard people banging on recently about how coconut water is supposedly the elixir of eternal youth and vitality, so, Morri's had it on offer and I thought I'd give it a run out. The rule of thumb is if that Internet dickhead Avocado Wolfe says it's good then it's pseudo bollocks. If he says it's bad for you then stock up on it as it's good shit. If people share his shit on my Facebook more than once then they're in the friends bintwilight wrote:Are you supposed to drink it or bathe in it, Bruce??Bruce Rioja wrote:Heard people banging on recently about how coconut water is supposedly the elixir of eternal youth and vitality, so, Morri's had it on offer and I thought I'd give it a run out. Some smug beardy nice person from America that spouts pseudo bollocks about health. Stuff like eating lemons heated to exactly 43.6789c will save you from cancer (I may have made that one up), or shove sunflower seeds up your arse for some benefit or other. People share his nonsense like the common coldWorthy4England wrote:^^ who?
