How can you say it's a load of bollocks when you haven't even seen one of the films?superjohnmcginlay wrote:Well the's 1 good, 1 bad and 1 I haven't a fooking clue as I've never heard of it. Have Al Pacino and De Niro ever made a bad film together? I can't recall one.
I said they haven't made a bad film together. Not every film they've made is amazing. Granted I've only seen half of Heat but I can't see it being a bad film. Rightous Kill is also a good film.

Righteous Kill is a terrible film. I'm a huge fan of De Niro and Pacino but I think they were cashing in with that one. No where near The Godfather Pt. II or Heat.

Individually, Scent of a Woman for Pacino and Ronin for De Niro were ace films.Beefheart wrote:Righteous Kill is a terrible film. I'm a huge fan of De Niro and Pacino but I think they were cashing in with that one. No where near The Godfather Pt. II or Heat.

I was writing what I thought about Scent of a Woman then half way through I realised I was thinking about Sea of Love.
I honestly don't think I could call a film with De Niro and Al Pacino terrible, but it may have clouded my judgement of the film, and looking on the net there seems to be quite a few poor reviews of it. I honestly enjoyed it and didn't think the twist was predictable or poor as some claim.

I think Scarface is my favourite of the lot. I stayed in the hotel where the shower scene was filmed when I was in Miami. Taxi Driver a close second.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
all the best have been mentioned, Casino should be in there too.
Raging Bull is far and away my De Niro favourite,
And Scent of a Woman for Pacino, who is a bit over-rated imo, but outstanding in that.

I've been watching The Wire for the first time.
Series 1 - excellent.
Series 2 - turd.
Series 3 - good with turdy parts
Series 4 starts tonight I think - hoping for a return to the earlier stuff.
