Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

People nicking my flagstones from my driveway in the dead of night.
Re: Today I'm angry about.....
That happened to my aunty but hers where 120 year old, 2 inch thick flags. They must have weighed a couple of tons and still did it without making a noise.jmjhb wrote:People nicking my flagstones from my driveway in the dead of night.
Do not trust atoms. They make up everything.
Re: Today I'm angry about.....
Ours were of a similar thickness. There's an article in the Bolton News about it tonight.

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
I have an interview tomorrow for my own job, following massive nHS re organisation. I'm annoyed about that as it is, but I've also applied for several other jobs this week. Several of those jobs ask for a degree in the person spec. This morning I rang a manager for one of the posts to ask why I hadn't been short listed. "You haven't got a degree" was the answer. A frank exchange of views them followed, at the conclusion of which, he had confirmed his view that a degree in landscape gardening obtained at some east coast polytechnic in 1987 proves that I can "work at a certain level" whereAs 15 years project management experience and a prince two qualification apparently don't. Half wit.

The stupidity and injustice and cynicism going on is sickening...

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
Why? Clearly they think the technology works for native English speakers but may give a false positive to someone speaking a second language. If the technology doesn't work it is useless in fraud detection. They will just have to get all those foreigners the old-fashioned way.Hoboh wrote:http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politic ... tests.html

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
I imagine it would be perfectly legal, Hoboh. What surprises me is that applicants can submit a claim by telephone. As an ex-banker who conducted hundreds of interviews over the years I can assure you that a face-to-face meeting can be quite revealing. Time is money, 'tis said, just is it was then, but weeding out the dross before handing out money must, in the long run, save more than it costs to do the filtering.

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.

I suppose I'd better point out that I don't actually intend to kill him, but you know, I empathise with those who have deeply sadistic thoughts toward him.
