I was also given the full box set of Steptoe and Son at the same time. I've watched all of that, and only three episodes of Lost. I think that tells me to give up now. I will take your advice, ebay here I come.CrazyHorse wrote:Save yourself the pain. Don't watch it.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:Don't spoil it. I was given the full box set. Yeah, I watched all 8 seasons, but even the (slight) upshoot in quality of Season 8 wasn't worth putting myself through seasons 5-7.hi there, i'm chris wrote:If you thought 24 got progressively worse then I can only assume you didn't watch it near the end. The last season was arguably the best.jmjhb wrote:Homeland got a third season.
It's going to go the way of 24, isn't it - flogging it until it's properly shite with each season getting progressively worse.
Never quite understood the argument that a show should be stopped after one or two seasons just because they're excellent.
I've never quite understood the argument that a show should be continued after its logical conclusion because it's the "flavour of the month".
I mean, you've got to watch Homeland these days just to keep up with the Joneses

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Lost had a great first season, then 'lost' itself in the second and third season. When they gave it an end-date it improved, fair enough, but the sixth and final season was an utter waste.

Watched that Brazil with Michael Palin last night.
It's a bit meh. Dunno if he's too old or if he just can't be arsed but it's just not got the same spark as the first couple of series did.

Aye. Switched it off and watched the pilot episode of Elementary instead.
Jonny Lee Miller as Sherlock and Lucy Liu as Watson. It wasn't too horrendous.

Interesting premise. Not too taxing on the brain. Lucy's easy on the eye. I'll watch the second and then decide.
Re: What are you watching tonight?
'Elementary' and 'Vegas' are the two new shows I've enjoyed the most so far, rather surprisingly. 'Last Resort' and 'Revolution', which I thought I would prefer, have been letdowns.

From Monday, on Channel 4 (I think) the return of 'Cheers' ... planned to be shown from the very first episode to the very last. It'll take months, years even, but wonderful viewing.
Hopefully not too dated.
For the oldies here ... a great treat. For the younger ones who barely know it, if at all, a great opportunity.

Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. This is purposely a parody of Cockernee gangster films, isn't it?
