Big-Mouth Barton .v. Frank "the special one" Lampa
Barton has been a very outspoken crtitic of the England squad in last years World Cup.
He has told the world that he thinks it's odd that they should have under-performed so badly, yet filled their boots with autobiographies.
He believes they are a set of prima-donna's who need a reality check.
He believes they are more interested in bling, flash cars & having bimbo WAG's than actually getting down to football.
He believes Lampard & Gerrard cannot perform fully in the same midfield.
He believes there's a clique who ran Eriksson & are moving in on running McClaren.
I didn't apprecitae he was so astute.
The difference between him having these views & me having them is that I'm not hoping to get selected for the squad the next time it's announced. (Well, I am, but fckg McClaren hasn't been down the local 6 a side in months, so unless he's had scouts down there I just no longer expect it. HIS loss, the fool).
Can you imagine the welcome Barton will get if he is selected ?!?!?

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I have to admit, I do like Barton... The comments on the World Cup was exactly what every fan in the country was thinking. The stuff about all the books was spot on too.
I hope he does get a chance in the England squad. It might give a few players, who think they've got some devine right to be there, a kick in the ass. Plus, I think he'd do a decent job in the midfield.

By the way, Joey is as Scouse as they come himself.

I agree with him entirely. One thing with the England team which has always annoyed me, is why pick players for a squad who wont feature, and more importantly why not pick in form players to play rather than 'on paper' the best team.
If there is a cliché in the England set up we need to get rid of it. I bet losing Backham helped. End of the day, when a team isnt picked by the manager, its picked from a whole host of stakeholders, including the media. You dont see Sam/Fergie/Wenger listening to external sources whilst taking decisions with there own team.
