Gone down 2-1 at Watford.

What happened? Was he mortally injured after a nasty old Watford defender came flying in with a two footed insult about his waxed legs?CAPSLOCK wrote:Ding dong the bells are gonna chime

I had a bet on Blackburn for this game, apparently they pasted Watford for the whole game... typical that they lose to the at the mugs bottom of the league after such good form.

Don't feel swindled, Athers. In lieu of a life, I watched the hour-long highlights on Sky last night. Watford weren't much cop (if very good at keeping the ball in the oppos' box, like we do sometimes) but Blackburn were much poorer. They were very lucky to equalise, only doing so because for some insane reason - you can only assume tactical dickheadery from Aidy "I says what I thinnks and I likes what I knows" Boothroyd - centre-half Malky Mackay came over to take a throw-in ten yards inside his half; Bentley won it and crossed for the virtually unmarked McCarthy. They were marginally better in the second half, but I wouldn't call Watford's win undeserved.Athers wrote:I had a bet on Blackburn for this game, apparently they pasted Watford for the whole game... typical that they lose to the at the mugs bottom of the league after such good form.

fair play to the dingles for thisBlackburn to lead price-cut call
Blackburn chairman John Williams believes Premiership clubs should use increased television revenue to cut tickets prices and curb falling crowds.
The Premier League has clinched a £625m overseas rights deal which will boost the average TV income for top-flight clubs to £40m per year.
Williams said: "Our view is that some of this new money must be returned to our supporters in admission prices.
"Most clubs, apart from the biggest, have a problem with crowds."
Williams added: "It is crucial that the game remains a live spectacle.
"The Premier League is becoming increasingly predictable. While it is good we still have a title race, most people can name at the beginning of the season who the top four clubs will be.
"Although we have to remain as competitive as we can, we are committed to returning some of the increase in TV money to our supporters from next season."
Blackburn's average attendance this season at 31,000-capacity Ewood Park is 21,621.

Now, if they were to adopt an "upside down" policy and give the lions share to the lower clubs in order to make the game more competitive and fair......ah, well, maybe not. Would clash with the "Rich get richer" culture.communistworkethic wrote:it's probably not going to happen - think about it - the big clubs will just have even more money to spend on players and the gap will just get wider

Not to mention the competitivityness. Be great if Watford had £50m to spend in the Championship next season!TANGODANCER wrote:Now, if they were to adopt an "upside down" policy and give the lions share to the lower clubs in order to make the game more competitive and fair......ah, well, maybe not. Americanos, how do your draft sports avoid teams jockeying for lower positions to get more freebies at year end? or whatever it is...
