The Official "Laugh at Savage's Broken Leg Thread"

Post by communistworkethic » Wed Jan 24, 2007 8:25 am

This deserves a thread of its own. I may now even begin to believe in Karma!!

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/footbal ... 293089.stm
Blackburn midfielder Robbie Savage suffered a broken leg in his side's 2-1 defeat by Watford on Tuesday night.
The 32-year-old Welsh international was hurt early in the second half in a challenge with Al Bangura and had to be stretchered off.

Rovers boss Mark Hughes said: "We have heard from the hospital it is a break. How severe it is, we don't know yet.

"We are devastated for Robbie. He has played very well this year and it is a huge blow for him and for us."

Bangura's challenge was his second on Savage in quick succession.

It was deemed to be legal by referee Dermot Gallagher but appeared reckless in TV replays.

Hughes added: "People have said that but I haven't seen it. I need to look at it again.

"I hope there was nothing untoward, just two guys going in for a challenge in a wholehearted way.

"It's come on top of a performance and a result we weren't expecting so it has not been a good evening that's for sure."

Savage is the second Blackburn player to break his leg in the last four days, following Andre Ooijer who suffered the same injury during his side's win at Manchester City on Saturday.
And Al Bangura doesn't even get a booking!!!
How wonderfully poetic is that??????????????????

I actually quite like Savage, he's a bit of a turd on the pitch but whenever he's on tele off it, he just seems a really likeable fellow! Im being serious too....

Yeah I too had a friend at Kylie last night who decided to ring me at about 11 o'clock so I could hear their catawauling along to some intelligible track! Now doubt the worse for alcopops, I bet they'll be embarrassed when I remind them.

I would like us to sign Bangura and just use him as our mascot and somebody for the kids to look up to.

Whenever I've seen him in interviews he seems alright, but he's a tw@t on the pitch and that's all that matters when you're a footballer :D

Yo !!!

I hope Savage never plays again.

Not a simple career ending injury, however, but one which often looks solved, only to break down time & again just at the final moment. As they say ... "It's the hope that kills you !"

Never, ever, ever should anyone forget the Leicester match ... & many more too.

Anyway, he can now get looked after by his mum & dad who he moved from Birmingham to be nearer to !!

Bitter ??? Moi ???

Have they said whether it's a front or rear leg? 8)

It sure was a good night.

I beat my mate 3-1 at squash, down at Total Fitness.

Had a decent steak at The Spead Eagle.

Got up to The Flag just in time to watch Blagburn's highlights on Sky,when I saw the tw&t being stretchered off it fair made my neet!

Has'nt made up for being dumped by my girlfriend :( but cheered me up none the less :)
