Wigan in Championship Manager swoop

Post by mummywhycantieatcrayons » Sun Jan 28, 2007 8:43 pm

http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hli ... d+Aghahowa

It must be four or five years since I last played Championship Manager, but anyone who played around that time must have signed or tried to sign Julius Aghahowa.

I wonder how he'll do in England now he finally has his chance. A move here was talked of once, and Jay Jay rated him, if I remember correctly.

Jewell says it's an almost club record bid, so he'll be going for about £5m.

I wonder why the move has never materialised for him in the past. Years ago, Wenger was interested, so he must have had something.

Maybe Shaktar just had him on a long contract, and have always asked for too much money for him.

And after buying Kristoffer Haestad.

Jewell needs to stop playing games!

Still, if its the reason the pie-eating koonts go down, then long may it continue!

Think we were VERY close to signing him a couple of years back, but Shaktar wanted summat daft like £8m at one point so he stayed put. Apparently the pies are paying him per somersault.

That would explain Jay Jay's lack of pace in his later years with us
