I hope it's something like:

--------------------Robbo--------------------
Richards--- ---Terry---Ferdi----------Barry
Lennon---Hargreaves--Gerrard---Downing
------------------Rooney---------------------
--------------------AJ-------------------------

Just so we've got two left footed players playing wide. I know Downings no world beater but surely him and Barry should be able to put in a few decent crosses from the left.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
"I understand you are a very good footballer" ... "I try".

I think we'll win 1-0. Andorra have to be taken seriously.

I would have thought any 11 out of the squad we have over there should be good enough to win comfortably unfortunately this will buy McLaren some more time in a job he is just not up to.

i just put hargreaves at the back as i don't think andorra will offer a lot going forward and i think we can afford to have owen there mopping up counter attacks and being able to provide the outlet for the "Carrick" ball

Honestly. Could not give a stuff.

The FA wanted continuity in opting for MaClaren. Well they got in. In spades of the same currency that Sven lavished upon us - boredom.

Mac doesn't pick his best starting 11. He picks what he believes to be his best players and then attempts to try and make them fit into the same old tired formation. We're still using a variant of 4-4-2 for gawds sake - when the rest of the footballing world moved on a couple of years ago. That's why we have so many players out of position.

Why not play a few 'lesser' England players? Not because they are World beaters or necessary England class, but because they will fit into a decent system that should, if executed correctly, work and work well. How many teams (International or Club) have 11 World Stars? Could you name every player (from the top of your head and without the power of Google) who plays for Brazil? France? The World-Cup Winning Team of 1966? I doubt most can.

Real Madrid tried the '11 stars on the pitch' experiment and, in recent years, it has failed dismally. No longer are they the pinnacle of the footballing world - they have been overtaken by Barca who have a collection of International Stars, but not a full squad of 11. That's my argument anyway.

And Macca should stop all this Friendly business where we plays 20 different blokes, hoping beyond hope that a couple of them amaze him during the token 5 minutes he has given them. He should play his 'best team' each and every game to get them used to playing his way and, above all, together. Having a completely different squad every couple of games (apart from the Competitions) does feck all. He should rotate one or two - but not the whole bloody squad. I haven't checked, but I wouldn't be surprised to learn that the number of players who only have 1 or possibly 2 caps has trebled under the tenures of Sven and Macca alone.

Tis just shite.

McClaren's hands are tied.

He's got a billion million billion pound shirt deal between the FA and Umbro to service.

Rooney sells the most - he's in.
Then Stevie G - He's in.
Then Lamps - He's in
nugent? You're avin a larf.

As for his selection why not put calmity James on the wing and play my sister as the holding player in a front two.

The first world cup I properly remember is Spain 82. I have a vague memory of Don Howe saying that because of the way Graham Rix played their full back 'never got a cross in'. I think it was the Czechoslovakia game.

So what he was saying is our centre forward was marking their full back.

C'est plus ca change eh?
I'm not asking you to 'think outside the box' I just wish you'd have a rummage around in it once in a while.

This is the 1st time I havent bought the new shirt in about 8 years. He is costing Umbro a sale, and I can't be the only one.

Robinson

Woodgate, Terry, Ferdinand

Lennon, Hargreaves, Lampard, Barry

Gerrard

Rooney, Nugent

Is what I'd go with personally and I reckon I'm better qualified than the purple, dimply faced, receeding barsteward

England will probably win, but they don't deserve to. At least watching england restores my faith in Big Sam and the Wanderers.

If Hargreaves (nothing against him personally) plays tomorrow, then it'll mean that we're actually using a defensive midfielder against a bunch of Ski Instructors. Alas, in a footballing context at least, I will have truly seen it all.
