Do you like paste sandwiches?

In a moment of madness I bought some chicken and ham paste last week for sandwiches and it was quite tastey.

Do you like paste sandwiches, if so which is your favourite flavour?

I once bought some crab paste at the chemists once. Horrible stuff, made me quite ill.

This gag will be celebrating its 50th birthday this year. Happy birthday to the crab paste gag!

Probably been a time in most of our lives when we ate paste sandwiches. Always hated the stuff and can't stand pate either. Eggs are a cheaper option, boiled, fried, poached or scrambled. Couple of slices of bread and butter, bit of salt and pepper..meal. Dusted.

you're just showing your ignorance again, it's only a butty if the contents are right, e.g. Jam, Chip, Bacon. You wouldn't have a BLT butty or a Prawn butty for example.

Chip Butty with gravy - class.

Bread is classed as follows:

Loaves (though this can vary e.g. Hedgehog loaf)
Sliced
Barm/Bun/Stottie

Here ends todays lesson.

Talking of bread related misunderstandings......

I used to work in Rochdale for a large tour operator at their head office where they have a rather impressive restaurant (compared to usual canteen guff anyway).

First visit there I asked for Coronation chicken and salad on a brown barm and received a blank look. I pointed to said brown barms and she said "Ah, you mean a teacake." "I'm sorry?", I replied thinking I'd misheard her, "Teacake", she reiterated. "Oh right, well will you take the raisins out of first please". She didn't laugh.

I then said, "Well if that's a teacake, what do you call the one that looks similar but has raisins in it?"

"A muffin".

"Well, what do you call those blueberry things you buy with coffee?"

"Buns".

At this point I guy behind chirped up, "They're f**cking weird here mate, I had the same conversation when I started....."
