Maddy McCann.

Post by Nozza » Thu May 10, 2007 4:26 pm

Couldn't find a thread on this (if there is one, I apologise) but breaking news is that a village near Seville has been cordened off as police have made a significant break through. Apparently little Maddy was snatched by a group of 2 men and a woman. Spotted on CCTV in a petrol station with "a destressed looking young girl".

Hope she is ok.

Not trying to make light of this or anything, but this bit from a bbc article made me cringe a bit:
A BBC Journalist wrote:Police have also asked locals if they recognise an image of a possible suspect, described by one shopkeeper as looking like "an egg with hair".

I for one think this Robert Murat is guilty. After all his villa is only 100 yards away from where this little girl was snatched and he still lives with his mum. Get him hanged now.

PS The above is tongue in cheek. This man's face is on the front of every newspaper today. If he is completely innocent then his life is probably ruined anyway. Typical disgraceful British press at work here.

Media To Handle Abduction Cases: Overworked Judicial System Grateful For Help

Mediawatch always thinks it's a positive thing that, when someone is interviewed by police over a heinous crime that may well be absolutely nothing to do with them, the British press splash their picture all over the front of the newspapers, interview anyone who has ever met them and all-round destroy their life. It's in the finest journalistic tradition of guilty until proven innocent, and even then probably guilty.

And let's be honest, sometimes the evidence speaks for itself. Just look at why the tabloids have decided Robert Murat is responsible for the disappearance of Maddy McCann:

'One-eyed Robert Murat, 33, was taken from the villa...' - The Sun.

'Murat, who has a glass eye...' - The Daily Mirror.

'He has a glass eye and wears dark glasses' - The Daily Express.

"He does look odd, because he has a glass eye" - A childhood friend, quoted in the Daily Mail.

you mean you didn't know that a glass eye is the biggest indication that someone is a paedophile??

That and being male, single and over 45. Slighty paunch and poor dress sense too and you might as well be neutered and publicly flogged as a sex pest.

That and the fact that he shares the same surname as one of Napoleon Bonaparte's top marshals (the one that was made King of Naples). Ship him up to Hartlepool and get the natives to organise a lynching, I say!

Kate McCann is to be declared an official suspect. Its probably a reason to keep her in Portugal and offer her some more protection from the tabloids as I can't see her being involved in her daughter's disappearance

yes declaring her a suspect will really shield her from the tabloids, portugal being so inaccessible and all.

What reason on God's earth would there be for ( seemingly sensible, balanced) parents to harm their own child, a seemingly harmless angelic little girl? Just doesnt add up. The circumstances, a meal out rather than no one knowing about it all, make it odder still. Baffling logic.

It was probably an accident due to parental neglect.

It really is about time the parents fessed up.
