The thing that was obvious yesterday was that people were there for the music and couldn't really give a shiit about the environmental talk.

In between acts when some guy who looks like they are some mad greenpeace activist would come on and talk about the earth, you could see people in the crowd just talking to themselves and were not interested.

And I agree Madonna shouting 'Jump if you want to save the Earth' was cringe worthy. I wouldn't have jumped because I am not a 'yes person'. Some of the morons in the crowd may as well have asked how high Madonna wanted them to jump, it was embarrassing.

It worked for me because it reminded me to switch stuff off more often but they could have made more of a stand by not using so much light and for charity instead of something that is disputed whether we should bother bothering. Plants an animals give off about 90% of the gases, not our fuels, apparently. And what about people driving there? SO much gas use there it was probably had 0 efficiency everything taken into consideration

The best bit was when they turned off all 'non-essential' lights at the stadium to illustrate some half-arsed point. If they're 'non-essential', why are they blazing away all night to start with? Isn't this a bit counter productive?

This is going to cause controversy because its a good cause, but Live Aid about a year ago where Geldof said after the concert he wanted everyone to go up to Scotland to the G14 summit to protest and on the news it showed people who looked like spider from Coronation Street jumping into their volkswagen camper vans to drive up.
