Where's the meths option??

Each of the choices has a place IMO, wine for meals and a relaxing night at home. Lager, or half decent cider for the summer, bitter for the winter when the chill sets in, or preferably guiness.

Favourite has to be a fine single malt scotch though, I love that stuff

bitter and proper northern stuff. None of that shite they serve down here.

Its all gone quiet on the Commie for Mayor/PM front. I had my vote ready, particuarly due to the part of the manifesto pledging proper beer

Ha, not me, it's done the trick selling that piss Budweiser & Miller before, now it's that Woodpecker substitute Magners that's all the rage. 20 years ago no-one would drink the stuff, now give it a fancy ad campaign and your away.

well it does depend on how me term "best". The best alcohol is no alcohol, as it causes all manner of social and health problem.

If one must imbibe then I heartily recommend Everard's Tiger Bitter or Chimay Bleu or for the wine drinkers the Rioja's (red & white) of the Tobia Bodegas (don't expect any change from a tenner) and for those special occasions don't buy champagne, instead go for a Simonsig Kaapse Vonkel - a delightful stellenbosch bubbly made according to the traditional "cap classique" method and blends the 3 champagne grapes, pinot meunier, chardonnay and pinot noir, expect to pay about £10. buttery/lemony overtones, superior to most french stuff at twice the price.

Just to clarify (like anyone gives a shat) I'm no fan of the modern new fangled Magners cider stuff that they have with ice in it.
It has to be Strongbow thank you very much.

Bitter or Real Ale, followed closely by Whiskey and then Harp Lager.

My local sells desperados *smug face*.

Lager all the way, although none of this crap carling/fosters bollocks. The Belgian's do it best in my opinion in Hogaarden & Blanche de Namur.

Also add Leffe, Aldaris (Latvian brewery, they did a good variety when I was in Riga), Peroni, Corona/Sol, Svyturys Ekstra and of course Super Bock.
