Just watched the six o'clock news and there is something not right about this story though. I'm not going to start speculating but it's a weird one.

Anyway, thank Christ she's alive and well; I really didn't expect this to have anykind of a happy ending.

one thing that strikes me, if this guy is related and the kids father had been searching in the area as he says, you'd think that he'd have called round to yon relative to ask them to help or suchlike, wouldn't you?

This case gets murkier and weirder daily. Child abducted but found in a "family" home. Stepfather arrested for child porn and now the mother arrested. There was always something odd when the police didn't let the child go back to her mother. Now the arrested bloke has tried to slash his wrists. Feel bloody sorry for that kid. She's amongst a bunch of nutters.

I had the same thought. The family certainly appear thick enough to think they could get away with it.

We can't help our looks, or be judged by them. Got to say though, the first time I saw the mother she wasn't a reassuring sight. Didn't fill me with the right sort of feelings for the occasion. Uncharitable? Maybe, but some sort of bells were pinging off deep down. I sincerely hope the child hasn't suffered any lasting harm from this lot. Disturbing, to say the least.

Cannot remember where I read/heard this - may have been in the Metro, so not necesarily to be believed, but supposedly when her mother went to pick her up from the foster parents, Shannon Matthews was cryiong saying how she wanted to stay at the foster home.

For me there must be something rotten if your little girl doesn't want to go home after what she's "allegedly" been through

The whole thing was fishy from the start - girl leaves school at half three, is found to be missing around 7pm and appears on the national news at 9pm? It must take some major strings to be pulled to go from just reported missing to be on the 9 O'Clock news in less than two hours...

I can't remember where I had heard it, but somebody had called up the McCann fund to try and get some money from them.
