hah true. I'm interesting in the stuff as well so i liked it when they went into it. Thankfully it didn't spoil the film - it's all about the characters and they ran it.Beefheart wrote:One of the things I found annoying with Wolf of Wall Street was the way they knowingly skipped over the boring details of how some of the stuff was done. enjoyed it. had the issue that all films about opaque topics have in that it has to stop and explain the plot to the audience at some junctures, but this was done in a clearly knowing way and it was fun.
Brad Pitt doing his standard 'in it for five minutes but will be a poster star' thing.
Have read the book and would recommend that as well.
Nero fiddles while Gordon Burns.

I watched most of the first series until we stopped Netflix over the weekend (signed up for 30 day trial over Christmas). It is OK in a reluctant hero sci-fi genre. Bit odd with David Tenant being the baddie in an American series.thebish wrote:am working my way through the first series of Jessica Jones on Netflix...
it's holding its own! in fact - quite entertaining!
Do not trust atoms. They make up everything.

yeah - I find him in that role a bit jarring... but then I haven't been able to take him seriously since he became a gurning parody of himself in Doctor Who...malcd1 wrote:I watched most of the first series until we stopped Netflix over the weekend (signed up for 30 day trial over Christmas). He's wicked to the core. He reversed into me and my mate earlier last year as we crossed the road behind his Yaris. That's my claim to fame - being run over by Dr. Who.malcd1 wrote: Bit odd with David Tenant being the baddie in an American series.
Actually you couldn't be knocked over by a nicer guy. He was beside himself in case he'd hurt either of us, which he hadn't.

He went to school with Mrs AT. A thoroughly good chap she says. They're friends on Facebook, so if you need his insurance details let me knowBruce Rioja wrote:He's wicked to the core. Nah. Neither of us were injured and being able to claim having been knocked over by Dr Who? is its own reward, Wigan.wigan white wrote:Where there's blame, there's a claim Bruce......should've sued his ass!!!!Bruce Rioja wrote:He's wicked to the core. Re: What are you watching tonight?
Just watched ( for an umpteenth time) a real old classic, Gary Cooper's High Noon Fred Zinneman directed in black and white. One of the best westerns ever: no special effects, no flashy stunts or fast draw artists, just a real tension-building film almost in real time as the pendulum clock ticks the time down. Oh, and Grace Kelly too..

My dad once hit Gail Platt with his car in a Manchester car park. Her fault apparently.Bruce Rioja wrote:Nah. Re: What are you watching tonight?
I can now use two of my own celebrity stories in one:
1) I once saw Gail Platt in the back of a London cab (in real life, not the internet).
2) a family friend crashed his car when Glen Keeley pulled out without looking. Glen Keeley also passed me for my Level 2 test.
That might even be three celebrity stories.

That it's going to lose its mind
Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.

This could be interesting, much like Steve Davis

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Watched Luther No, not the T.V guy, but a 2003? film about Martin Luther. Not so much a classic film by any means, but an interesting one in its topic nevertheless.
