Hated every second of it. It's a millionaire's Blackpool. A million times more tacky, false and soul-less. Oh, and you'll get a good rate at The Flamingo, fella.

This is exactly what I say too. Went in '99 and couldn't wait to leave the place. Seriously, any more than three days there and you'll be climbing the walls.

Stayed in Excalibur. Cheap and cheerful and just like olde medieval England. Apparently.

flights there were £150 last week if you booked through australian expedia (from all uk airports) along with most US destinations. KLM and AA before I get any Zoom jokes.

Although I suspect this has been corrected now, and that you also have flights

I've heard its relatively cheap to stay wherever really, they want you in for the gambling

You want to stay in the centre of the strip, no where else. It doesn't matter about the extra cost, you will get in back in the Taxi fares you would spend otherwise. It takes a good 20 minutes to walk from one hotel, to the hotel next to it its that big.

Bellagio, Planet Hollywood, Cesares Palace in that order, depening on what you can afford.

If you can't afford any of them, then let me know and il advise you the next best thing.

P.S - Ignore all those thats say its shít, ive been twice in the last 6 months and will be going again soon, its the best place on the planet.

Wherever you stay you still do all of 'The Strip'. It's hardly the length of Norway, is it?! Were you on a string or something?

Agree 100%. However I'd add a proviso, I'm a poker player so spent endless hours in the poker room, and havent yet left vegas losing money after three trips which obviously helps the feel good factor, however if you're not a poker player it may well be a different story, and the drain on your wallet, and constant noise of the slot machines may drive you round the bend in short order.

That said, it is without doubt a place you just have to see at least once in your life.

If Caesers is doable, then do it, you can't get much more central, and you neighbour with Bellagio and Venetian, arguably the best three hotels/casinos right there.

This is a great forum for any questions or advise you have http://www.allvegaspoker.com/forum/

The best place on the planet for those that can amply find all the culture that they require within a small pot of yogurt, yes!

What do you class as "doing all the strip"?

If its just walking from one end of the strip to the other it takes about 3 hours, thats without actually doing anything.

Planet is better than Caesers in my opinion, although it depends what you want?

What time of the year are you looking to go and the pool isn't open all year round.

P.s - Mandalay Bay is really nice, buts its out of the way and its a pain walking to the centre of the strip every night.

I don't think Vegas makes any pretensions towards being a centre of culture. That said, if Glasgow and Liverpool can both be 'Europes Capital of Culture' then there's hope for anywhere!
