People with no personality.

Post by Prufrock » Tue Sep 16, 2008 4:22 pm

I was in Chorley today and caught a glimpse of a sight that filled me half with despair, and half with anger.

What sort of a personality-less, attention seeking, self obsessed ostentatious bell-end do you have to be to not only buy a Subaru Impreza, but to but one decorated like the actual rally car. Do you honestly think anyone is looking as you go past and thinking anything other than tosser? Either i have added another one to my 'list' come the revolution, or they have started holding Rally stages in the Milton Keynes of the north west.

Frustration vented. I thank ye.

What's wrong with that?

When I drive around in my Fiat Panda (black, with flames up the sides) I like to wind the windows down and play Roy Harper at full blast

Everyone's a winner.

If you think that's bad, then I only wish that you could've been there to witness this. Picture the scene if you will.
I was in a small and particularly quiet Norwegian town called Notodden. It's a Sunday evening around 10:30 and I'm ambling past the market square on the way back to my hotel. All of a sudden I can hear loud music approaching from behind. I'm then passed at slow speed by a sunglasses sporting, head-nodding teenager, on his own, driving an absolute heap of a Vauxhall Carlton, every window down and the radio..... yes, that's the radio turned up full, thinking he looked the business to others as he smoothed his way by. I felt vicariously embarrassed to a whole new degree. What a fecking cock.
May the bridges I burn light your way

Does it not worry you that your car's on fire?

I can remember being young and pretentious. It isn't a crime, just a phase of growing up.

It fecking should be. He wasnt even young though. All the other stories (Batty's and Brucie's both made me cringe and giggle) at least seem to have involved the yoof, and you can hope they could grow up, this guy was mid thirities at least, and in a suit. He's had an education! He has a job, that man could quite possibly have procreated and im sorry but that should not be allowed! He could even in fact be a kind hearted fellow at heart, but if he crashes that, even if its on fire people are just going to laugh at how the racing driver man in his NOT REAL rally car fecked up, what a see you next tuesday.

wtf is wrong with an Impreza? I admit the new ones are like a smacked arse, but the old ones are fine cars.

When a standard one drives past i must admit i think 'prick', but i wouldnt wish death on the driver. They are technological masterpieces and i can see why that would interest some folk, though i still maintain most buy them for the 'oooh look i've got a NOT REAL rally car' effect. However if you are going for that sort of car for its technological brilliance, surely you'd pick an EVO? But no, even these it seems have to be bright fecking yellow with stupid skirts on the side and shit blue lights.

The guy today took it to a whole new level though! WHY oh why oh why would you think that having all the sponsorship and numbers and rally paraphanalia was a good thing? You know that such a person would be looking at every avainlable oppurtunity to talk about his 13 year old's car and how brilliant it was. Then after 4 hours you would get a word in edgeways and find out he has NO PERSONALITY. Well, he's overcompensating for something anyway.

I feel all Jeckyl and Hyde. Ive got Mr. Prufrock who tut tuts whenever somebody makes a racial slur, and frowns when people are not all treated equally. Then theres Mr Vicious where i want all the nutjobs and tossers who ruin and threaten to ruin the world for the rest of us would be chucked in a pit and stoned. Mr Vicious doesnt like ostentatious bell-ends.

Hmmm. Your thinking not in anyway having been influenced by a fellow countryman of yours having gone on to do great things in one, Fatshaft?
