Interestingly, we pay more for our railways now, under private ownership, than we ever did when they were publically owned.

The incentive to invest in public good doesn't exist within the private sector, it invests for profit (quite rightly). The problem is, railways have a far greater weighting towards public good than profitability, so I'm in favour of us either getting rid of them completely or stopping the tsunami of money that flows to the operating companies.
Railways with the exception of shunting commuters into city's are largely not worth anything in the 'national interest' so I agree sell them off totally but ensure they can only operate under stringent safety regulations. I think after the flat fires more prosecutions will be the 'norm' for breeches of H&S and regulation.

Not that this isn't all fascinating, but it 100% without a shadow of a doubt is going to end up with basically the status quo but us paying slighty (but substantially if you get me) more for what we have now with enough of a label change for them to sell it as a "brexit". An exercise in arch futility.

I take it you've been keeping up with the implications for the law regarding ECJ jurisdiction and the 'Great' (snigger) repeal bill?

Sounds like an omnishambles in the making from where I'm sat.

Snigger, snigger, you kinda miss the point about the ECJ. One of the aims of Brexit was not to repeal masses of laws it was to stop the interference of the Euro courts in court decisions in the UK, i.e. the UK supreme court was the ultimate, last stop shop in any legal action taken about anything.

The courts and judiciary in this country stink at times, but at least it's our stink.

This sounding off between The Spunktrumpet and the North Korean.

This isn't going to end at all well. The security of the world couldn't possibly be in worse hands. :(

One missile from Burger king in the wrong direction, I doubt his army will get time to start loading rockets or shells before NK becomes one huge asphalt car park, seriously don't think he'd know what was heading in his direction.

It's be a massive mess. Half of South Korea flattened, refugees flooding into China etc etc. It'd be as big a mess as Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq and Libya. Unless they actually have a plan for the aftermath this time, including the Chinese then it will be a disaster far worse than now.

Indeed. We're talking about tens of millions of innocent people's lives and the stability of the entire region.

Its not a game. Military action against NK would be a total and utter disaster.

No it's not, but the stupidity of allowing the chubster to get to this stage is coming back to bite the West on the ass.

Send for Corbyn, he'll sort it, we need the gross fat burger king pacifying not eliminating, the West, including us, surely wouldn't mind tripling our foreign aid budget to prop him up every time he showed off his toys.

Hands up who's stupid enough to think the Chinese will allow someone to drop nuclear weapons on their doorstep without having something to say about it.

You can't act unilaterally with nuclear warheads. It's not even a discussion point.

I'd bet you as many internet pounds as you like the Chinese would not do anything in a military sense if the US had to nuke fatboy, they have way too much to lose.

Yeah okay, oracle, of course you'd know the Chinese would tank their entire economy alongside losing major cities just to stand up for the burger king.
Chinese are not stupid people, nor are they prone to jump headlong into things.

Yeah. I'm sure they won't perceive any negative impacts from the widespread fallout, migration and general chaos in the region post a nuclear strike by the US.

Where's your mate, Vaseline Corbyn? He's keeping his head down.

Okay, so you reckon we are going to head into a MAD situation with China then over matters they can easily deal with, they have form on handling mass pollution and movement of people.

One bomb, fatty and his generals gone, you really think the NK forces would carry on to their ultimate destruction?

Financially, turning NK into a vast car park would be better for everyone on reflection.
