Re: The Politics Thread
Saudi Arabia has launched an attack on Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn after he urged the UK Government to scrap a £5.9m prison consultancy contract with the repressive Middle Eastern regime.
Writing in The Daily Telegraph, Mohammed bin Nawaf bin Abdulaziz, the Saudi ambassador to the UK, said there had been “an alarming change in the way Saudi Arabia is discussed in Britain” in the last few weeks.
prison consultancy contracts with saudi arabia... hmmmm... we're in bed with some pretty dodgy characters...

Ironic that in consecutive posts he wants more spent on benefits but doesn't want us to raise the money to be able to do it

So the only way to make money is by nefarious means.
I'm glad we've cleared that one up.

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

aye - the only way of raising cash is to build prisons for despotic regimes to lock more dissidents up in before torturing/executing them... my bad!

So the prisons won't happen, otherwise?thebish wrote:Lord Kangana wrote:So the only way to make money is by nefarious means.

all sorts of things happen otherwise to me getting involved - that fact doesn't mean I should get involved, even if it might make me some cash...

Re: The Politics Thread
I've just watched some 'highlights' of yesterday's PMQ's. I'm hoping that they were edited to suit someone's agenda, because otherwise, if the shouting down of Corbyn actually happened as I've just seen it, then it's an absolute fecking disgrace and an absolute affront to the whole democratic process.

See, I have to disagree, or maybe not. I honestly thought that we were getting somewhere with it. I've truly been suckered into believing that one person might raise a point and his or her opposite number counter it. Didn't some nice person Filibuster the tax credits debate earlier this week? This is fecking playground tactics!Jugs wrote:Happens every week at the moment, mate.

Aye, it's a regular occurrence now. The Tories can often be heard heckling and laughing. They even laughed when Corbyn was reading out a quote from a member of the public whose plight he wanted to highlight.

Not exclusively a Tory thing. The sneering and jeering in politics is embarrassing and needs to stop. But it is so deep rooted into many of the creatures involved, it may take a long time for that to happen.Jugs wrote:Aye, it's a regular occurrence now. PMQs should have members of the public asking questions each week anyway. And those people should be there asking the questions and getting the answers. And the PM shouldn't be allowed out until that person is happy with the answer to the question.
Re: The Politics Thread
Did enjoy Corbs asking the same question all six times because he didn't get an answer to the question asked.

Not sure I'd be happy if I was a Europhile with this idiot leading the campaign to stay in.
On a serious note, what a wanker!
